اَلْحِجْر

99 Ayaat مکیۃ

15:0

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful.

15:1

الٓرٰ  تِلْكَ اٰیٰتُ الْكِتٰبِ وَ قُرْاٰنٍ مُّبِیْنٍ(۱)

ALIF LAM RA. These are the verses of the Book and the perspicuous oration.

15:2

رُبَمَا یَوَدُّ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا لَوْ كَانُوْا مُسْلِمِیْنَ(۲)

The unbelievers would haply like to wish that they had submitted (and become Muslim).

15:3

ذَرْهُمْ یَاْكُلُوْا وَ یَتَمَتَّعُوْا وَ یُلْهِهِمُ الْاَمَلُ فَسَوْفَ یَعْلَمُوْنَ(۳)

Leave them to feast and revel, beguiled by hope; they will come to know soon.

15:4

وَ مَاۤ اَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَرْیَةٍ اِلَّا وَ لَهَا كِتَابٌ مَّعْلُوْمٌ(۴)

Not one habitation have We destroyed but at the time determined for it.

15:5

مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ اُمَّةٍ اَجَلَهَا وَ مَا یَسْتَاْخِرُوْنَ(۵)

No people can hasten or delay the term already fixed for them.

15:6

وَ قَالُوْا یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْ نُزِّلَ عَلَیْهِ الذِّكْرُ اِنَّكَ لَمَجْنُوْنٌؕ(۶)

And yet they say: "You, to whom this Exposition has been sent are surely possessed of the Devil.

15:7

لَوْ مَا تَاْتِیْنَا بِالْمَلٰٓىٕكَةِ اِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِیْنَ(۷)

If you are a man of truth, why can´t you bring the angels to us?"

15:8

مَا نُنَزِّلُ الْمَلٰٓىٕكَةَ اِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَ مَا كَانُوْۤا اِذًا مُّنْظَرِیْنَ(۸)

But then We never send the angels down save with the purpose (of enforcing their doom), after which they will not be given more respite.

15:9

اِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَ اِنَّا لَهٗ لَحٰفِظُوْنَ(۹)

We have sent down this Exposition, and We will guard it.

15:10

وَ لَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فِیْ شِیَعِ الْاَوَّلِیْنَ(۱۰)

We had also sent apostles to people of earlier persuasions.

15:11

وَ مَا یَاْتِیْهِمْ مِّنْ رَّسُوْلٍ اِلَّا كَانُوْا بِهٖ یَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ(۱۱)

But never once an apostle came to them at whom they did not scoff.

15:12

كَذٰلِكَ نَسْلُكُهٗ فِیْ قُلُوْبِ الْمُجْرِمِیْنَۙ(۱۲)

We place in the hearts of sinners (disbelief).

15:13

لَا یُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِهٖ وَ قَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ الْاَوَّلِیْنَ(۱۳)

So, they will not believe in it: The example of former people is there.

15:14

وَ لَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَیْهِمْ بَابًا مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ فَظَلُّوْا فِیْهِ یَعْرُجُوْنَۙ(۱۴)

Even if We open a door in the heavens and they ascend through it in broad daylight,

15:15

لَقَالُوْۤا اِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ اَبْصَارُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ مَّسْحُوْرُوْنَ۠(۱۵)

They will say all the same: "Our eyes were dazed (and clouded over). We were a people ensorcelled."

15:16

وَ لَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِی السَّمَآءِ بُرُوْجًا وَّ زَیَّنّٰهَا لِلنّٰظِرِیْنَۙ(۱۶)

We have placed the signs of the Zodiac in the sky, and decked it out for those who can see;

15:17

وَ حَفِظْنٰهَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَیْطٰنٍ رَّجِیْمٍۙ(۱۷)

And We have preserved it from every accursed devil,

15:18

اِلَّا مَنِ اسْتَرَقَ السَّمْعَ فَاَتْبَعَهٗ شِهَابٌ مُّبِیْنٌ(۱۸)

Except the ones who listen on the sly, yet they are chased away by a shooting flame.

15:19

وَ الْاَرْضَ مَدَدْنٰهَا وَ اَلْقَیْنَا فِیْهَا رَوَاسِیَ وَ اَنْۢبَتْنَا فِیْهَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَیْءٍ مَّوْزُوْنٍ(۱۹)

We stretched the earth and placed upon it firm stabilisers, and made all things grow upon it balanced evenly.

15:20

وَ جَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِیْهَا مَعَایِشَ وَ مَنْ لَّسْتُمْ لَهٗ بِرٰزِقِیْنَ(۲۰)

We have provided on it sustenance for you, and for those you cannot provide.

15:21

وَ اِنْ مِّنْ شَیْءٍ اِلَّا عِنْدَنَا خَزَآىٕنُهٗ٘-وَ مَا نُنَزِّلُهٗۤ اِلَّا بِقَدَرٍ مَّعْلُوْمٍ(۲۱)

Of all things there are We have the stores, and send them down in determined measure.

15:22

وَ اَرْسَلْنَا الرِّیٰحَ لَوَاقِحَ فَاَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَاَسْقَیْنٰكُمُوْهُۚ-وَ مَاۤ اَنْتُمْ لَهٗ بِخٰزِنِیْنَ(۲۲)

We send rain-impregnated winds, and water from the sky which you drink, but you are not the keepers of its store.

15:23

وَ اِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْیٖ وَ نُمِیْتُ وَ نَحْنُ الْوٰرِثُوْنَ(۲۳)

It is We who give life and We who give death, and We are the One who will abide.

15:24

وَ لَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَقْدِمِیْنَ مِنْكُمْ وَ لَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَاْخِرِیْنَ(۲۴)

We surely know those of you who go forward and those of you who lag behind.

15:25

وَ اِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ یَحْشُرُهُمْؕ-اِنَّهٗ حَكِیْمٌ عَلِیْمٌ۠(۲۵)

Your Lord will surely gather them together: Certainly He is all-wise and all-knowing.

15:26

وَ لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْاِنْسَانَ مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَاٍ مَّسْنُوْنٍۚ(۲۶)

Man We fashioned from fermented clay dried tingling hard,

15:27

وَ الْجَآنَّ خَلَقْنٰهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ مِنْ نَّارِ السَّمُوْمِ(۲۷)

As We fashioned jinns before from intense radiated heat.

15:28

وَ اِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلٰٓىٕكَةِ اِنِّیْ خَالِقٌۢ بَشَرًا مِّنْ صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَاٍ مَّسْنُوْنٍ(۲۸)

But when your Lord said to the angels: "I am verily going to create a human being from fermented clay dried tingling hard;

15:29

فَاِذَا سَوَّیْتُهٗ وَ نَفَخْتُ فِیْهِ مِنْ رُّوْحِیْ فَقَعُوْا لَهٗ سٰجِدِیْنَ(۲۹)

And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My spirit, bow before him in homage;"

15:30

فَسَجَدَ الْمَلٰٓىٕكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ اَجْمَعُوْنَۙ(۳۰)

The angels bowed in homage in a body

15:31

اِلَّاۤ اِبْلِیْسَؕ-اَبٰۤى اَنْ یَّكُوْنَ مَعَ السّٰجِدِیْنَ(۳۱)

Except Iblis. He refused to bow with the adorers.

15:32

قَالَ یٰۤاِبْلِیْسُ مَا لَكَ اَلَّا تَكُوْنَ مَعَ السّٰجِدِیْنَ(۳۲)

"How is it, O Iblis," said (the Lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?"

15:33

قَالَ لَمْ اَكُنْ لِّاَسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَهٗ مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَاٍ مَّسْنُوْنٍ(۳۳)

"How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?"

15:34

قَالَ فَاخْرُ جْ مِنْهَا فَاِنَّكَ رَجِیْمٌۙ(۳۴)

"Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place,

15:35

وَّ اِنَّ عَلَیْكَ اللَّعْنَةَ اِلٰى یَوْمِ الدِّیْنِ(۳۵)

Condemned till the day of Doom!"

15:36

قَالَ رَبِّ فَاَنْظِرْنِیْۤ اِلٰى یَوْمِ یُبْعَثُوْنَ(۳۶)

"O my Lord," said he, "give me respite till the day the dead are raised."

15:37

قَالَ فَاِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنْظَرِیْنَۙ(۳۷)

"You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord),

15:38

اِلٰى یَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُوْمِ(۳۸)

"Till the predetermined time."

15:39

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَاۤ اَغْوَیْتَنِیْ لَاُزَیِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِی الْاَرْضِ وَ لَاُغْوِیَنَّهُمْ اَجْمَعِیْنَۙ(۳۹)

"O my Lord," he said, "since You have led me into error I´ll beguile them with the pleasures of the world and lead them astray,

15:40

اِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِیْنَ(۴۰)

Except the chosen ones among Your creatures."
