Surah Maryam
مَرْيَم
98 Ayaat مکیۃ
وَ اتَّخَذُوْا مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ اٰلِهَةً لِّیَكُوْنُوْا لَهُمْ عِزًّاۙ(۸۱)
They have taken other gods apart from God that they might be a strength to them.
And they have taken to them other gods apart from God, that they might be for them a might.
كَلَّاؕ-سَیَكْفُرُوْنَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَ یَكُوْنُوْنَ عَلَیْهِمْ ضِدًّا۠(۸۲)
Never. They will deny their devotion and become their adversaries.
No, indeed! They shall deny their service, and they shall be against them pitted.
اَلَمْ تَرَ اَنَّاۤ اَرْسَلْنَا الشَّیٰطِیْنَ عَلَى الْكٰفِرِیْنَ تَؤُزُّهُمْ اَزًّاۙ(۸۳)
Do you not see that We have set the devils against the infidels to rouse and instigate them?
Hast thou not seen how We sent the Satans against the unbelievers, to prick them?
فَلَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَیْهِمْؕ-اِنَّمَا نَعُدُّ لَهُمْ عَدًّاۚ(۸۴)
So, do not be hasty with them. We are counting their number (of days).
So hasten thou not against them; We are only numbering for them a number.
یَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ الْمُتَّقِیْنَ اِلَى الرَّحْمٰنِ وَفْدًاۙ(۸۵)
The day We shall usher the righteous before Ar-Rahman like envoys into the presence of a king,
On the day that We shall muster the godfearing to the All-merciful with pomp
وَّ نَسُوْقُ الْمُجْرِمِیْنَ اِلٰى جَهَنَّمَ وِرْدًاۘ(۸۶)
And drive the wicked into Hell like cattle driven to water,
and drive the evildoers into Gehenna herding,
لَا یَمْلِكُوْنَ الشَّفَاعَةَ اِلَّا مَنِ اتَّخَذَ عِنْدَ الرَّحْمٰنِ عَهْدًاۘ(۸۷)
None will have power to intercede for them except one who obtains a promise from Ar-Rahman.
having no power of intercession, save those who have taken with the All-merciful covenant.
And they say, 'The All-merciful has taken unto Himself a son.
You have indeed advanced something hideous!
تَكَادُ السَّمٰوٰتُ یَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْهُ وَ تَنْشَقُّ الْاَرْضُ وَ تَخِرُّ الْجِبَالُ هَدًّاۙ(۹۰)
Which would cleave the skies asunder, rend the earth, and split the mountains,
The heavens are wellnigh rent of it and the earth split asunder, and the mountains wellnigh fall down crashing for
that they have attributed to the All-merciful a son;
وَ مَا یَنْۢبَغِیْ لِلرَّحْمٰنِ اَنْ یَّتَّخِذَ وَلَدًاؕ(۹۲)
When it does not behove the Merciful to have a son.
and it behoves not the All-merciful to take a son.
اِنْ كُلُّ مَنْ فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ اِلَّاۤ اٰتِی الرَّحْمٰنِ عَبْدًاؕ(۹۳)
There is no one in the heavens and the earth but comes before Ar-Rahman in all obedience.
None is there in the heavens and earth but he comes to the All-merciful as a servant;
He has indeed counted them, and He has numbered them exactly.
وَ كُلُّهُمْ اٰتِیْهِ یَوْمَ الْقِیٰمَةِ فَرْدًا(۹۵)
Every one of them will come before Him all alone on the Day of Resurrection.
Every one of them shall come to Him upon the Day of Resurrection, all alone.
اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ سَیَجْعَلُ لَهُمُ الرَّحْمٰنُ وُدًّا(۹۶)
Surely Ar-Rahman will show love for those who believe and do the right.
Surely those who believe and do deeds of righteousness -- unto them the All-merciful shall assign love.
فَاِنَّمَا یَسَّرْنٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ الْمُتَّقِیْنَ وَ تُنْذِرَ بِهٖ قَوْمًا لُّدًّا(۹۷)
So We have made this (Qur´an) easy in your tongue that you may give good news to those who take heed, and warn the people who are contentious.
Now We have made it easy by thy tongue that thou mayest bear good tidings thereby to the godfearing, and warn a people stubborn.
وَ كَمْ اَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِّنْ قَرْنٍؕ-هَلْ تُحِسُّ مِنْهُمْ مِّنْ اَحَدٍ اَوْ تَسْمَعُ لَهُمْ رِكْزًا۠(۹۸)
How many generations have We laid low before them. Do you see any sign of them, or hear the least whisper of them?
And how many a generation We destroyed before them! Dost thou perceive so much as one of them, or hear of them a whisper?
