Surah As-Saaffaat

اَلصّٰٓفّٰت

182 Ayaat مکیۃ

Select Para

Select Surah

37:121

اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِی الْمُحْسِنِیْنَ(۱۲۱)

That is how We reward those who do good.

37:122

اِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ(۱۲۲)

They are among Our faithful devotees.

37:123

وَ اِنَّ اِلْیَاسَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِیْنَؕ(۱۲۳)

Verily Elias is one of the apostles.

37:124

اِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهٖۤ اَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَ(۱۲۴)

When he said to his people: "Will you not be mindful of God?

37:125

اَتَدْعُوْنَ بَعْلًا وَّ تَذَرُوْنَ اَحْسَنَ الْخَالِقِیْنَۙ(۱۲۵)

Would you call on Baal and leave the best of creators,

37:126

اللّٰهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَ رَبَّ اٰبَآىٕكُمُ الْاَوَّلِیْنَ(۱۲۶)

God, your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers?"

37:127

فَكَذَّبُوْهُ فَاِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُوْنَۙ(۱۲۷)

They denied him, and will surely be brought to punishment,

37:128

اِلَّا عِبَادَ اللّٰهِ الْمُخْلَصِیْنَ(۱۲۸)

Except the chosen creatures of God.

37:129

وَ تَرَكْنَا عَلَیْهِ فِی الْاٰخِرِیْنَۙ(۱۲۹)

And We left his (memory) for posterity.

37:130

سَلٰمٌ عَلٰۤى اِلْ یَاسِیْنَ(۱۳۰)

Peace be on Elias.

37:131

اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِی الْمُحْسِنِیْنَ(۱۳۱)

That is how We reward those who do good.

37:132

اِنَّهٗ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ(۱۳۲)

He is truly among Our faithful devotees.

37:133

وَ اِنَّ لُوْطًا لَّمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِیْنَؕ(۱۳۳)

Verily Lot was one of the apostles,

37:134

اِذْ نَجَّیْنٰهُ وَ اَهْلَهٗۤ اَجْمَعِیْنَۙ(۱۳۴)

Wherefore We saved him and his entire family

37:135

اِلَّا عَجُوْزًا فِی الْغٰبِرِیْنَ(۱۳۵)

Except an old woman who was one of those who stayed behind.

37:136

ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا الْاٰخَرِیْنَ(۱۳۶)

Then We destroyed the others.

37:137

وَ اِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّوْنَ عَلَیْهِمْ مُّصْبِحِیْنَ(۱۳۷)

You pass by (their habitations) in the morning

37:138

وَ بِالَّیْلِؕ-اَفَلَا تَعْقِلُوْنَ۠(۱۳۸)

Or at night. Then how is it you do not understand?

37:139

وَ اِنَّ یُوْنُسَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِیْنَؕ(۱۳۹)

Verily Jonah is one of the apostles.

37:140

اِذْ اَبَقَ اِلَى الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُوْنِۙ(۱۴۰)

When he fled on the laden ship,

37:141

فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْمُدْحَضِیْنَۚ(۱۴۱)

And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard).

37:142

فَالْتَقَمَهُ الْحُوْتُ وَ هُوَ مُلِیْمٌ(۱۴۲)

Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame.

37:143

فَلَوْ لَاۤ اَنَّهٗ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُسَبِّحِیْنَۙ(۱۴۳)

Had he not been one of those who struggled hard,

37:144

لَلَبِثَ فِیْ بَطْنِهٖۤ اِلٰى یَوْمِ یُبْعَثُوْنَۚ(۱۴۴)

He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised.

37:145

فَنَبَذْنٰهُ بِالْعَرَآءِ وَ هُوَ سَقِیْمٌۚ(۱۴۵)

So We cast him, sick, on a barren shore,

37:146

وَ اَنْۢبَتْنَا عَلَیْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّنْ یَّقْطِیْنٍۚ(۱۴۶)

And We made a gourd tree grow over him.

37:147

وَ اَرْسَلْنٰهُ اِلٰى مِائَةِ اَلْفٍ اَوْ یَزِیْدُوْنَۚ(۱۴۷)

We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more,

37:148

فَاٰمَنُوْا فَمَتَّعْنٰهُمْ اِلٰى حِیْنٍؕ(۱۴۸)

And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age.

37:149

فَاسْتَفْتِهِمْ اَلِرَبِّكَ الْبَنَاتُ وَ لَهُمُ الْبَنُوْنَۙ(۱۴۹)

Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons?

37:150

اَمْ خَلَقْنَا الْمَلٰٓىٕكَةَ اِنَاثًا وَّ هُمْ شٰهِدُوْنَ(۱۵۰)

Or did We make the angels females, and they witnessed it?

37:151

اَلَاۤ اِنَّهُمْ مِّنْ اِفْكِهِمْ لَیَقُوْلُوْنَۙ(۱۵۱)

Is it not a lie invented by them when they say:

37:152

وَلَدَ اللّٰهُۙ-وَ اِنَّهُمْ لَكٰذِبُوْنَ(۱۵۲)

"God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed!

37:153

اَصْطَفَى الْبَنَاتِ عَلَى الْبَنِیْنَؕ(۱۵۳)

Does He prefer sons to daughters?

37:154

مَا لَكُمْ- كَیْفَ تَحْكُمُوْنَ(۱۵۴)

What ails you that you judge in such a wise?

37:155

اَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُوْنَۚ(۱۵۵)

Why do you not reflect?

37:156

اَمْ لَكُمْ سُلْطٰنٌ مُّبِیْنٌۙ(۱۵۶)

Or have you received some clear authority?

37:157

فَاْتُوْا بِكِتٰبِكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِیْنَ(۱۵۷)

Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true.

37:158

وَ جَعَلُوْا بَیْنَهٗ وَ بَیْنَ الْجِنَّةِ نَسَبًاؕ-وَ لَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ الْجِنَّةُ اِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُوْنَۙ(۱۵۸)

They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him.

37:159

سُبْحٰنَ اللّٰهِ عَمَّا یَصِفُوْنَۙ(۱۵۹)

God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him

37:160

اِلَّا عِبَادَ اللّٰهِ الْمُخْلَصِیْنَ(۱۶۰)

Except His chosen creatures who do not.
