اَلْقَمَر

55 Ayaat مکیۃ

54:0

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful.

54:1

اِقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَ انْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ(۱)

THE HOUR HAS come and split is the moon.

54:2

وَ اِنْ یَّرَوْا اٰیَةً یُّعْرِضُوْا وَ یَقُوْلُوْا سِحْرٌ مُّسْتَمِرٌّ(۲)

But if they see a sign they turn away, and say: "This is the same old lie continuing,"

54:3

وَ كَذَّبُوْا وَ اتَّبَعُوْۤا اَهْوَآءَهُمْ وَ كُلُّ اَمْرٍ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ(۳)

And deny, and follow their own vain desires; but every matter is determined at its time.

54:4

وَ لَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ مِّنَ الْاَنْۢبَآءِ مَا فِیْهِ مُزْدَجَرٌۙ(۴)

Messages deterring them from evil had come to them,

54:5

حِكْمَةٌۢ بَالِغَةٌ فَمَا تُغْنِ النُّذُرُۙ(۵)

Containing consummate wisdom; yet warnings were of no avail.

54:6

فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْۘ- یَوْمَ یَدْعُ الدَّاعِ اِلٰى شَیْءٍ نُّكُرٍۙ(۶)

So turn away from them. When on the Day the crier calls to the painful business,

54:7

خُشَّعًا اَبْصَارُهُمْ یَخْرُجُوْنَ مِنَ الْاَجْدَاثِ كَاَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌ مُّنْتَشِرٌۙ(۷)

They will come out of the graves with downcast eyes like an expanding swarm of locusts.

54:8

مُّهْطِعِیْنَ اِلَى الدَّاعِؕ- یَقُوْلُ الْكٰفِرُوْنَ هٰذَا یَوْمٌ عَسِرٌ(۸)

They will hasten forward to the caller, gazes fixed. And the unbelievers will say: "This is the day of untold woe."

54:9

كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوْحٍ فَكَذَّبُوْا عَبْدَنَا وَ قَالُوْا مَجْنُوْنٌ وَّ ازْدُجِرَ(۹)

The people of Noah had denied before them, and had called Our votary a liar, and said: "He is possessed," and repulsed him.

54:10

فَدَعَا رَبَّهٗۤ اَنِّیْ مَغْلُوْبٌ فَانْتَصِرْ(۱۰)

So he prayed to his Lord: "I am helpless, deliver me."

54:11

فَفَتَحْنَاۤ اَبْوَابَ السَّمَآءِ بِمَآءٍ مُّنْهَمِرٍ٘ۖ(۱۱)

And We opened up the flood gates of the sky with water pouring down in torrents,

54:12

وَّ فَجَّرْنَا الْاَرْضَ عُیُوْنًا فَالْتَقَى الْمَآءُ عَلٰۤى اَمْرٍ قَدْ قُدِرَۚ(۱۲)

And We opened up the springs of the earth; and the waters met for a decreed end.

54:13

وَ حَمَلْنٰهُ عَلٰى ذَاتِ اَلْوَاحٍ وَّ دُسُرٍۙ(۱۳)

But We bore him on a (vessel made) of planks and oakum,

54:14

تَجْرِیْ بِاَعْیُنِنَاۚ-جَزَآءً لِّمَنْ كَانَ كُفِرَ(۱۴)

Which sailed right under Our eyes: A recompense for him who had been denied.

54:15

وَ لَقَدْ تَّرَكْنٰهَاۤ اٰیَةً فَهَلْ مِنْ مُّدَّكِرٍ(۱۵)

And We left it as a sign. Is there anyone who will be warned?

54:16

فَكَیْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِیْ وَ نُذُرِ(۱۶)

How was then My punishment and My commination!

54:17

وَ لَقَدْ یَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْاٰنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُّدَّكِرٍ(۱۷)

Easy have We made the Qur´an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned?

54:18

كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ فَكَیْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِیْ وَ نُذُرِ(۱۸)

The ´Ad had also disavowed. How was then My punishment and My commination!

54:19

اِنَّاۤ اَرْسَلْنَا عَلَیْهِمْ رِیْحًا صَرْصَرًا فِیْ یَوْمِ نَحْسٍ مُّسْتَمِرٍّۙ(۱۹)

We let loose against them a violent roaring wind on a day of ill omen, continuous,

54:20

تَنْزِعُ النَّاسَۙ- كَاَنَّهُمْ اَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُّنْقَعِرٍ(۲۰)

Which snatched away men as though they were palm trees pulled out by the roots.

54:21

فَكَیْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِیْ وَ نُذُرِ(۲۱)

How was then My punishment and My commination!

54:22

وَ لَقَدْ یَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْاٰنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُّدَّكِرٍ۠(۲۲)

Easy have We made the Qur´an to understand: So is there any one who will pay heed?

54:23

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُوْدُ بِالنُّذُرِ(۲۳)

The Thamud rejected the warnings,

54:24

فَقَالُوْۤا اَبَشَرًا مِّنَّا وَاحِدًا نَّتَّبِعُهٗۤۙ-اِنَّاۤ اِذًا لَّفِیْ ضَلٰلٍ وَّ سُعُرٍ(۲۴)

And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall he in error and insane.

54:25

ءَاُلْقِیَ الذِّكْرُ عَلَیْهِ مِنْۢ بَیْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ اَشِرٌ(۲۵)

Was he the one of all of us to have been given the exposition? He is surely an impudent liar."

54:26

سَیَعْلَمُوْنَ غَدًا مَّنِ الْكَذَّابُ الْاَشِرُ(۲۶)

"Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar!

54:27

اِنَّا مُرْسِلُوا النَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَّهُمْ فَارْتَقِبْهُمْ وَ اصْطَبِرْ٘(۲۷)

We shall send the she-camel to try them. So watch them, and be constant.

54:28

وَ نَبِّئْهُمْ اَنَّ الْمَآءَ قِسْمَةٌۢ بَیْنَهُمْۚ-كُلُّ شِرْبٍ مُّحْتَضَرٌ(۲۸)

Tell them that the water is to be apportioned between them (and her); and every turn of drinking will be fixed (for each)."

54:29

فَنَادَوْا صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطٰى فَعَقَرَ(۲۹)

But they called their commander, who seized and hamstrung her.

54:30

فَكَیْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِیْ وَ نُذُرِ(۳۰)

How was then My punishment of which they had been warned?

54:31

اِنَّاۤ اَرْسَلْنَا عَلَیْهِمْ صَیْحَةً وَّاحِدَةً فَكَانُوْا كَهَشِیْمِ الْمُحْتَظِرِ(۳۱)

We sent a single blast against them, and they were reduced to husks of a decayed fence.

54:32

وَ لَقَدْ یَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْاٰنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُّدَّكِرٍ(۳۲)

Easy have We made the Qur´an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned?

54:33

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوْطٍۭ بِالنُّذُرِ(۳۳)

The people of Lot rejected the warnings.

54:34

اِنَّاۤ اَرْسَلْنَا عَلَیْهِمْ حَاصِبًا اِلَّاۤ اٰلَ لُوْطٍؕ-نَجَّیْنٰهُمْ بِسَحَرٍۙ(۳۴)

We sent a stone-hurtling storm against them, except the family of Lot whom We saved in the early hours of the morning

54:35

نِّعْمَةً مِّنْ عِنْدِنَاؕ-كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِیْ مَنْ شَكَرَ(۳۵)

As a favour from Us. That is how We reward the grateful.

54:36

وَ لَقَدْ اَنْذَرَهُمْ بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا بِالنُّذُرِ(۳۶)

He had warned them of Our might, but they passed over the warnings.

54:37

وَ لَقَدْ رَاوَدُوْهُ عَنْ ضَیْفِهٖ فَطَمَسْنَاۤ اَعْیُنَهُمْ فَذُوْقُوْا عَذَابِیْ وَ نُذُرِ(۳۷)

They lusted after his guests, so We put out their eyes (and said): "Taste My punishment and My commination."

54:38

وَ لَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُمْ بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ مُّسْتَقِرٌّۚ(۳۸)

And early in the morning the decreed punishment came upon them.

54:39

فَذُوْقُوْا عَذَابِیْ وَ نُذُرِ(۳۹)

So now taste My punishment and My commination!

54:40

وَ لَقَدْ یَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْاٰنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُّدَّكِرٍ۠(۴۰)

Easy have We made the Qur´an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned?
