Surah Al-Furqan Recitation, Translation, and Tafseer - The Holy Quran

25:0

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful.

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

25:1

تَبٰرَكَ الَّذِیْ نَزَّلَ الْفُرْقَانَ عَلٰى عَبْدِهٖ لِیَكُوْنَ لِلْعٰلَمِیْنَ نَذِیْرَ ﰳاۙ (۱)

BLESSED IS HE who revealed the Criterion (of right and wrong) to His votary that it may be a warning for the world, --

Blessed be He who has sent down the Salvation upon His servant, that he may be a warner to all beings;

25:2

الَّذِیْ لَهٗ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ وَ لَمْ یَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَّ لَمْ یَكُنْ لَّهٗ شَرِیْكٌ فِی الْمُلْكِ وَ خَلَقَ كُلَّ شَیْءٍ فَقَدَّرَهٗ تَقْدِیْرًا(۲)

He to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, who has neither begotten a son nor has He a partner in His kingdom, (who) created everything and determined its exact measure.

to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and He has not taken to Him a son, and He has no associate in the Kingdom; and He created every thing, then He ordained it very exactly.

25:3

وَ اتَّخَذُوْا مِنْ دُوْنِهٖۤ اٰلِهَةً لَّا یَخْلُقُوْنَ شَیْــٴًـا وَّ هُمْ یُخْلَقُوْنَ وَ لَا یَمْلِكُوْنَ لِاَنْفُسِهِمْ ضَرًّا وَّ لَا نَفْعًا وَّ لَا یَمْلِكُوْنَ مَوْتًا وَّ لَا حَیٰوةً وَّ لَا نُشُوْرًا(۳)

Yet they choose apart from Him gods who have not created any thing and have themselves been created, who possess no power over their loss or gain, or their death or life or being raised to life again.

Yet they have taken to them gods, apart from Him, that create nothing and themselves are created, and have no power to hurt or profit themselves, no power of death or life or raising up.

25:4

وَ قَالَ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْۤا اِنْ هٰذَاۤ اِلَّاۤ اِفْكُ-ﰳافْتَرٰىهُ وَ اَعَانَهٗ عَلَیْهِ قَوْمٌ اٰخَرُوْنَۚۛ-فَقَدْ جَآءُوْ ظُلْمًا وَّ زُوْرًاۚۛ(۴)

Yet the unbelievers say: "This is nothing but a lie he has concocted in which others have aided him." They have come down to mischief and lies.

The unbelievers say, 'This is naught but a calumny he has forged, and other folk have helped him to it.' So they have committed wrong and falsehood.

25:5

وَ قَالُوْۤا اَسَاطِیْرُ الْاَوَّلِیْنَ اكْتَتَبَهَا فَهِیَ تُمْلٰى عَلَیْهِ بُكْرَةً وَّ اَصِیْلًا(۵)

And they say: "These are fables of antiquity he has invented, which are dictated to him morning and evening."

They say, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients that he has had written down, so that they are recited to him at the dawn and in the evening.'

25:6

قُلْ اَنْزَلَهُ الَّذِیْ یَعْلَمُ السِّرَّ فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِؕ-اِنَّهٗ كَانَ غَفُوْرًا رَّحِیْمًا(۶)

Say: "He who knows the secrets of the heavens and the earth has revealed it to me; and He is surely forgiving and kind."

Say: 'He sent it down, who knows the secret in the heavens and earth; He is All-forgiving, All-compassionate.'

25:7

وَ قَالُوْا مَالِ هٰذَا الرَّسُوْلِ یَاْكُلُ الطَّعَامَ وَ یَمْشِیْ فِی الْاَسْوَاقِؕ-لَوْ لَاۤ اُنْزِلَ اِلَیْهِ مَلَكٌ فَیَكُوْنَ مَعَهٗ نَذِیْرًاۙ(۷)

But they say: "What sort of prophet is this who eats food and walks the market places? Why was no angel sent to him to act as admonisher with him?

They also say, 'What ails this Messenger that he eats food, and goes in the markets? Why has an angel not been sent down to him, to be a warner with him?

25:8

اَوْ یُلْقٰۤى اِلَیْهِ كَنْزٌ اَوْ تَكُوْنُ لَهٗ جَنَّةٌ یَّاْكُلُ مِنْهَاؕ-وَ قَالَ الظّٰلِمُوْنَ اِنْ تَتَّبِعُوْنَ اِلَّا رَجُلًا مَّسْحُوْرًا(۸)

Or a treasure should have been given to him, or he should have had an orchard from which he could eat." And these wicked people say: "You only follow a man ensorcelled."

Or why is not a treasure thrown to him, or why has he not a Garden to eat of?' The evildoers say, 'You are only following a man bewitched!'

25:9

اُنْظُرْ كَیْفَ ضَرَبُوْا لَكَ الْاَمْثَالَ فَضَلُّوْا فَلَا یَسْتَطِیْعُوْنَ سَبِیْلًا۠(۹)

Just see what comparisons they bring up for you! They are lost and cannot find the way.

Behold, how they strike similitudes for thee, and go astray, and are unable to find a way!
