Surah Taaha

طٰهٰ
135 Ayaat    مکیۃ


20:41
وَ اصْطَنَعْتُكَ لِنَفْسِیْۚ(۴۱)
And I chose you for Myself.
20:42
اِذْهَبْ اَنْتَ وَ اَخُوْكَ بِاٰیٰتِیْ وَ لَا تَنِیَا فِیْ ذِكْرِیْۚ(۴۲)
Go with My signs, you and your brother, and do not be lax in remembering Me.
20:43
اِذْهَبَاۤ اِلٰى فِرْعَوْنَ اِنَّهٗ طَغٰىۚۖ(۴۳)
Then go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious.
20:44
فَقُوْلَا لَهٗ قَوْلًا لَّیِّنًا لَّعَلَّهٗ یَتَذَكَّرُ اَوْ یَخْشٰى(۴۴)
Speak to him gently. He may possibly take heed or may come to have fear."
20:45
قَالَا رَبَّنَاۤ اِنَّنَا نَخَافُ اَنْ یَّفْرُطَ عَلَیْنَاۤ اَوْ اَنْ یَّطْغٰى(۴۵)
They said: "O our Lord, we are really frightened lest he behave insolently with us or become violent."
20:46
قَالَ لَا تَخَافَاۤ اِنَّنِیْ مَعَكُمَاۤ اَسْمَعُ وَ اَرٰى(۴۶)
(The Lord) said: "Be not afraid. I am verily with you, and I hear and see.
20:47
فَاْتِیٰهُ فَقُوْلَاۤ اِنَّا رَسُوْلَا رَبِّكَ فَاَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِیْۤ اِسْرَآءِیْلَ ﳔ وَ لَا تُعَذِّبْهُمْؕ-قَدْ جِئْنٰكَ بِاٰیَةٍ مِّنْ رَّبِّكَؕ-وَ السَّلٰمُ عَلٰى مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الْهُدٰى(۴۷)
So go to him and say: ´The two of us have indeed been sent by your Lord. So let the children of Israel come with us, and do not oppress them. We have come to you with a token from your Lord. Peace on him who follows the way of guidance.
20:48
اِنَّا قَدْ اُوْحِیَ اِلَیْنَاۤ اَنَّ الْعَذَابَ عَلٰى مَنْ كَذَّبَ وَ تَوَلّٰى(۴۸)
It has been revealed to us that punishment will befall him who denies and turns away.
20:49
قَالَ فَمَنْ رَّبُّكُمَا یٰمُوْسٰى(۴۹)
He asked: "Who then is that Lord of yours, O Moses?"
20:50
قَالَ رَبُّنَا الَّذِیْۤ اَعْطٰى كُلَّ شَیْءٍ خَلْقَهٗ ثُمَّ هَدٰى(۵۰)
(Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it."
20:51
قَالَ فَمَا بَالُ الْقُرُوْنِ الْاُوْلٰى(۵۱)
(The Pharaoh) said: "And what about the former generations?"
20:52
قَالَ عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ رَبِّیْ فِیْ كِتٰبٍۚ-لَا یَضِلُّ رَبِّیْ وَ لَا یَنْسَى٘(۵۲)
(Moses) replied: "Knowledge of that is with my Lord (recorded) in the Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets."
20:53
الَّذِیْ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْاَرْضَ مَهْدًا وَّ سَلَكَ لَكُمْ فِیْهَا سُبُلًا وَّ اَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءًؕ-فَاَخْرَجْنَا بِهٖۤ اَزْوَاجًا مِّنْ نَّبَاتٍ شَتّٰى(۵۳)
It is He who made the earth a bed for you, and traced for you paths upon it, and sends down water from the sky, and brings out through it every kind of vegetation
20:54
كُلُوْا وَ ارْعَوْا اَنْعَامَكُمْؕ-اِنَّ فِیْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰیٰتٍ لِّاُولِی النُّهٰى۠(۵۴)
To eat and feed your cattle. Surely there are signs in these for those who are wise.
20:55
مِنْهَا خَلَقْنٰكُمْ وَ فِیْهَا نُعِیْدُكُمْ وَ مِنْهَا نُخْرِجُكُمْ تَارَةً اُخْرٰى(۵۵)
We created you from the earth and will revert you back to it; and raise you up from it a second time.
20:56
وَ لَقَدْ اَرَیْنٰهُ اٰیٰتِنَا كُلَّهَا فَكَذَّبَ وَ اَبٰى(۵۶)
So We showed him all Our signs, but he denied them and refused,
20:57
قَالَ اَجِئْتَنَا لِتُخْرِجَنَا مِنْ اَرْضِنَا بِسِحْرِكَ یٰمُوْسٰى(۵۷)
And said: "Have you come to us, O Moses, to drive us out of our land with your witchery?
20:58
فَلَنَاْتِیَنَّكَ بِسِحْرٍ مِّثْلِهٖ فَاجْعَلْ بَیْنَنَا وَ بَیْنَكَ مَوْعِدًا لَّا نُخْلِفُهٗ نَحْنُ وَ لَاۤ اَنْتَ مَكَانًا سُوًى(۵۸)
We shall certainly meet you with like magic. So make an appointment when we and you could meet on common ground, which neither we nor you should fail to keep."
20:59
قَالَ مَوْعِدُكُمْ یَوْمُ الزِّیْنَةِ وَ اَنْ یُّحْشَرَ النَّاسُ ضُحًى(۵۹)
Said (Moses): "Let your meeting be on the day of the Feast, and let people assemble in broad daylight."
20:60
فَتَوَلّٰى فِرْعَوْنُ فَجَمَعَ كَیْدَهٗ ثُمَّ اَتٰى(۶۰)
After this the Pharaoh withdrew and settled his stratagem, then came back.
20:61
قَالَ لَهُمْ مُّوْسٰى وَیْلَكُمْ لَا تَفْتَرُوْا عَلَى اللّٰهِ كَذِبًا فَیُسْحِتَكُمْ بِعَذَابٍۚ-وَ قَدْ خَابَ مَنِ افْتَرٰى(۶۱)
Moses said to them: "Woe betide you. Do not fabricate a lie against God, or He will destroy you with some affliction. For he who fabricates lies is doomed to failure."
20:62
فَتَنَازَعُوْۤا اَمْرَهُمْ بَیْنَهُمْ وَ اَسَرُّوا النَّجْوٰى(۶۲)
So they discussed their strategy among themselves and conferred privately,
20:63
قَالُوْۤا اِنْ هٰذٰىنِ لَسٰحِرٰنِ یُرِیْدٰنِ اَنْ یُّخْرِجٰكُمْ مِّنْ اَرْضِكُمْ بِسِحْرِهِمَا وَ یَذْهَبَا بِطَرِیْقَتِكُمُ الْمُثْلٰى(۶۳)
(And) said: "These two are surely magicians. They want to deprive you of your land with their magic, and eradicate your distinct way (of life).
20:64
فَاَجْمِعُوْا كَیْدَكُمْ ثُمَّ ائْتُوْا صَفًّاۚ-وَ قَدْ اَفْلَحَ الْیَوْمَ مَنِ اسْتَعْلٰى(۶۴)
So prepare your strategy and come forward. He alone shall win today who is superior."
20:65
قَالُوْا یٰمُوْسٰۤى اِمَّاۤ اَنْ تُلْقِیَ وَ اِمَّاۤ اَنْ نَّكُوْنَ اَوَّلَ مَنْ اَلْقٰى(۶۵)
They said: "Either you cast (your spell), O Moses, or we shall cast it first."
20:66
قَالَ بَلْ اَلْقُوْاۚ-فَاِذَا حِبَالُهُمْ وَ عِصِیُّهُمْ یُخَیَّلُ اِلَیْهِ مِنْ سِحْرِهِمْ اَنَّهَا تَسْعٰى(۶۶)
Moses said: "No. You cast it first" Then it seemed to Moses that by their magic their cords and rods were flying;
20:67
فَاَوْجَسَ فِیْ نَفْسِهٖ خِیْفَةً مُّوْسٰى(۶۷)
And Moses felt afraid within himself.
20:68
قُلْنَا لَا تَخَفْ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْاَعْلٰى(۶۸)
We said to him: "Fear not. You will certainly be victorious.
20:69
وَ اَلْقِ مَا فِیْ یَمِیْنِكَ تَلْقَفْ مَا صَنَعُوْاؕ-اِنَّمَا صَنَعُوْا كَیْدُ سٰحِرٍؕ-وَ لَا یُفْلِحُ السَّاحِرُ حَیْثُ اَتٰى(۶۹)
Throw down what is in your right hand: It will swallow up what they have conjured. For what they have fashioned is only a trick of the sorcerer; and a sorcerer does not succeed wherever he may come."
20:70
فَاُلْقِیَ السَّحَرَةُ سُجَّدًا قَالُوْۤا اٰمَنَّا بِرَبِّ هٰرُوْنَ وَ مُوْسٰى(۷۰)
The magicians, (seeing the miracle), fell down in prostration, saying: "We believe in the Lord of Moses and Aaron."
20:71
قَالَ اٰمَنْتُمْ لَهٗ قَبْلَ اَنْ اٰذَنَ لَكُمْؕ-اِنَّهٗ لَكَبِیْرُكُمُ الَّذِیْ عَلَّمَكُمُ السِّحْرَۚ-فَلَاُقَطِّعَنَّ اَیْدِیَكُمْ وَ اَرْجُلَكُمْ مِّنْ خِلَافٍ وَّ لَاُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ فِیْ جُذُوْعِ النَّخْلِ٘-وَ لَتَعْلَمُنَّ اَیُّنَاۤ اَشَدُّ عَذَابًا وَّ اَبْقٰى(۷۱)
(The Pharaoh) said: "You have come to believe without my dispensation. Surely he is your chief who taught you magic. I will have your hands and feet cut off on alternate sides and crucify you on the trunks of date-palm trees. You will come to know whose punishment is harder and protracted."
20:72
قَالُوْا لَنْ نُّؤْثِرَكَ عَلٰى مَا جَآءَنَا مِنَ الْبَیِّنٰتِ وَ الَّذِیْ فَطَرَنَا فَاقْضِ مَاۤ اَنْتَ قَاضٍؕ-اِنَّمَا تَقْضِیْ هٰذِهِ الْحَیٰوةَ الدُّنْیَاؕ(۷۲)
They replied: "We cannot choose you in the face of the clear testimony we have received, and over Him who created us. So do what you are determined to do. All that you would do will only be confined to our life on earth.
20:73
اِنَّاۤ اٰمَنَّا بِرَبِّنَا لِیَغْفِرَ لَنَا خَطٰیٰنَا وَ مَاۤ اَكْرَهْتَنَا عَلَیْهِ مِنَ السِّحْرِؕ-وَ اللّٰهُ خَیْرٌ وَّ اَبْقٰى(۷۳)
We have certainly come to believe in our Lord that He may forgive our trespasses and the magic you have forced us to perform, for God is nobler and abiding."
20:74
اِنَّهٗ مَنْ یَّاْتِ رَبَّهٗ مُجْرِمًا فَاِنَّ لَهٗ جَهَنَّمَؕ-لَا یَمُوْتُ فِیْهَا وَ لَا یَحْیٰى(۷۴)
Surely for him who comes before his Lord a sinner shall be Hell, where he will neither die nor live.
20:75
وَ مَنْ یَّاْتِهٖ مُؤْمِنًا قَدْ عَمِلَ الصّٰلِحٰتِ فَاُولٰٓىٕكَ لَهُمُ الدَّرَجٰتُ الْعُلٰىۙ(۷۵)
But whoever comes before Him a believer having done good deeds, will be raised to higher stations --
20:76
جَنّٰتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِیْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ خٰلِدِیْنَ فِیْهَاؕ-وَ ذٰلِكَ جَزٰٓؤُا مَنْ تَزَكّٰى۠(۷۶)
Gardens of Eden with rippling streams, where he will live for ever. This is the recompense of those who achieve integrity.
20:77
وَ لَقَدْ اَوْحَیْنَاۤ اِلٰى مُوْسٰۤى ﳔ اَنْ اَسْرِ بِعِبَادِیْ فَاضْرِبْ لَهُمْ طَرِیْقًا فِی الْبَحْرِ یَبَسًاۙ-لَّا تَخٰفُ دَرَكًا وَّ لَا تَخْشٰى(۷۷)
We commanded Moses: "Journey by night with Our creatures, and strike a dry path for them through the sea. Do not fear being overtaken, nor have dread of any thing."
20:78
فَاَتْبَعَهُمْ فِرْعَوْنُ بِجُنُوْدِهٖ فَغَشِیَهُمْ مِّنَ الْیَمِّ مَا غَشِیَهُمْؕ(۷۸)
Then the Pharaoh followed them with his army, but the sea overpowered and engulfed them.
20:79
وَ اَضَلَّ فِرْعَوْنُ قَوْمَهٗ وَ مَا هَدٰى(۷۹)
The Pharaoh had led his people astray, and did not rightly guide them.
20:80
یٰبَنِیْۤ اِسْرَآءِیْلَ قَدْ اَنْجَیْنٰكُمْ مِّنْ عَدُوِّكُمْ وَ وٰعَدْنٰكُمْ جَانِبَ الطُّوْرِ الْاَیْمَنَ وَ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَیْكُمُ الْمَنَّ وَ السَّلْوٰى(۸۰)
O children of Israel, We delivered you from your enemy, and made a covenant with you on the right side of the Mount, and sent down for you manna and quails,
