Surah Saba Recitation, Translation, and Tafseer - The Holy Quran

34:0

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

34:1

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِیْ لَهٗ مَا فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ مَا فِی الْاَرْضِ وَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِی الْاٰخِرَةِؕ-وَ هُوَ الْحَكِیْمُ الْخَبِیْرُ(۱)

ALL PRAISE BE to God to whom belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth, and His the praise in the world to come. He is all-wise and all-knowing.

Praise be to Allah, to Whom belong all things in the heavens and on earth: to Him be Praise in the Hereafter: and He is Full of Wisdom, acquainted with all things.

34:2

یَعْلَمُ مَا یَلِجُ فِی الْاَرْضِ وَ مَا یَخْرُ جُ مِنْهَا وَ مَا یَنْزِلُ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ وَ مَا یَعْرُجُ فِیْهَاؕ-وَ هُوَ الرَّحِیْمُ الْغَفُوْرُ(۲)

He knows whatever goes into the earth and whatsoever issues from it, whatsoever comes down from the sky, and whatsoever goes up to it. He is all-merciful, all-forgiving.

He knows all that goes into the earth, and all that comes out thereof; all that comes down from the sky and all that ascends thereto and He is the Most Merciful, the Oft-Forgiving.

34:3

وَ قَالَ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا لَا تَاْتِیْنَا السَّاعَةُؕ-قُلْ بَلٰى وَ رَبِّیْ لَتَاْتِیَنَّكُمْۙ-عٰلِمِ الْغَیْبِۚ-لَا یَعْزُبُ عَنْهُ مِثْقَالُ ذَرَّةٍ فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ لَا فِی الْاَرْضِ وَ لَاۤ اَصْغَرُ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ وَ لَاۤ اَكْبَرُ اِلَّا فِیْ كِتٰبٍ مُّبِیْنٍۗۙ(۳)

The unbelievers say: "There is no coming of the Hour for us." Say: "Why not? By my Lord, the knower of the unknown, it will certainly come for you. Not even an atom´s weight in the heavens and the earth, or something smaller or greater than it, is hidden from Him, and which is not recorded in the all-too-manifest Book,

The Unbelievers say, "Never to us will come the Hour": Say, "Nay! but most surely, by my Lord, it will come upon you;- by Him Who knows the unseen,- from Whom is not hidden the least little atom in the heavens or on earth: Nor is there anything less than that, or greater, but is in the Record Perspicuous:

34:4

لِّیَجْزِیَ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِؕ-اُولٰٓىٕكَ لَهُمْ مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَّ رِزْقٌ كَرِیْمٌ(۴)

In order that He may recompense those who have believed and done the right. For them will be forgiveness and worthy sustenance.

That He may reward those who believe and work deeds of righteousness: for such is Forgiveness and a Sustenance Most Generous."

34:5

وَ الَّذِیْنَ سَعَوْ فِیْۤ اٰیٰتِنَا مُعٰجِزِیْنَ اُولٰٓىٕكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مِّنْ رِّجْزٍ اَلِیْمٌ(۵)

As for those who try to subvert Our signs, there is a punishment of painful torment.

But those who strive against Our Signs, to frustrate them,- for such will be a Penalty,- a Punishment most humiliating.

34:6

وَ یَرَى الَّذِیْنَ اُوْتُوا الْعِلْمَ الَّذِیْۤ اُنْزِلَ اِلَیْكَ مِنْ رَّبِّكَ هُوَ الْحَقَّۙ-وَ یَهْدِیْۤ اِلٰى صِرَاطِ الْعَزِیْزِ الْحَمِیْدِ(۶)

Those who have been given knowledge realise what has been revealed by the Lord is the truth, and leads to the path of the mighty and praiseworthy (God).

And those to whom knowledge has come see that the (Revelation) sent down to thee from thy Lord - that is the Truth, and that it guides to the Path of the Exalted (in might), Worthy of all praise.

34:7

وَ قَالَ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا هَلْ نَدُلُّكُمْ عَلٰى رَجُلٍ یُّنَبِّئُكُمْ اِذَا مُزِّقْتُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍۙ-اِنَّكُمْ لَفِیْ خَلْقٍ جَدِیْدٍۚ(۷)

The disbelievers say: "Shall we tell you of a man who prophesies that when you are reduced to particles and vanished in the dust, you will become a new creation

The Unbelievers say (in ridicule): "Shall we point out to you a man that will tell you, when ye are all scattered to pieces in disintegration, that ye shall (then be raised) in a New Creation?

34:8

اَفْتَرٰى عَلَى اللّٰهِ كَذِبًا اَمْ بِهٖ جِنَّةٌؕ-بَلِ الَّذِیْنَ لَا یُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِالْاٰخِرَةِ فِی الْعَذَابِ وَ الضَّلٰلِ الْبَعِیْدِ(۸)

Has he fabricated a lie about God, or is he possessed?" Not so; but those who believe not in the Hereafter are themselves afflicted and far astray.

"Has he invented a falsehood against Allah, or has a spirit (seized) him?"- Nay, it is those who believe not in the Hereafter, that are in (real) Penalty, and in farthest error.

34:9

اَفَلَمْ یَرَوْا اِلٰى مَا بَیْنَ اَیْدِیْهِمْ وَ مَا خَلْفَهُمْ مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ وَ الْاَرْضِؕ-اِنْ نَّشَاْ نَخْسِفْ بِهِمُ الْاَرْضَ اَوْ نُسْقِطْ عَلَیْهِمْ كِسَفًا مِّنَ السَّمَآءِؕ-اِنَّ فِیْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰیَةً لِّكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُّنِیْبٍ۠(۹)

Do they not see what is before them and what is behind them of the heavens and the earth? We could cleave the earth and sink them, if We pleased, or drop a fragment of the sky upon them. There is surely a sign in this for every penitent creature.

See they not what is before them and behind them, of the sky and the earth? If We wished, We could cause the earth to swallow them up, or cause a piece of the sky to fall upon them. Verily in this is a Sign for every devotee that turns to Allah (in repentance).
