Surah Qaf

قٓ
45 Ayaat    مکیۃ


50:0
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful.
50:1
قٓ ۫ۚ-وَ الْقُرْاٰنِ الْمَجِیْدِۚ(۱)
QAF. I CALL to witness the glorious Qur´an.
50:2
بَلْ عَجِبُوْۤا اَنْ جَآءَهُمْ مُّنْذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَقَالَ الْكٰفِرُوْنَ هٰذَا شَیْءٌ عَجِیْبٌۚ(۲)
They are rather surprised that a warner from among themselves has come to them. So the unbelievers say: "This is astonishing:
50:3
ءَاِذَا مِتْنَا وَ كُنَّا تُرَابًاۚ-ذٰلِكَ رَجْعٌۢ بَعِیْدٌ(۳)
When we are dead and turned to dust, this returning (to life) is most far-fetched."
50:4
قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنْقُصُ الْاَرْضُ مِنْهُمْۚ-وَ عِنْدَنَا كِتٰبٌ حَفِیْظٌ(۴)
We know what the earth consumes of them, for We have the Book that preserves everything.
50:5
بَلْ كَذَّبُوْا بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِیْۤ اَمْرٍ مَّرِیْجٍ(۵)
But no! They called the truth a lie when it came to them; so they are in a confused state.
50:6
اَفَلَمْ یَنْظُرُوْۤا اِلَى السَّمَآءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَیْفَ بَنَیْنٰهَا وَ زَیَّنّٰهَا وَ مَا لَهَا مِنْ فُرُوْجٍ(۶)
Have they not looked at the sky above them, how We have fashioned and adorned it, and it has no flaw?
50:7
وَ الْاَرْضَ مَدَدْنٰهَا وَ اَلْقَیْنَا فِیْهَا رَوَاسِیَ وَ اَنْۢبَتْنَا فِیْهَا مِنْ كُلِّ زَوْجٍۭ بَهِیْجٍۙ(۷)
We stretched the earth and placed upon it firm stabilisers and We made every kind of splendid thing to grow upon it
50:8
تَبْصِرَةً وَّ ذِكْرٰى لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُّنِیْبٍ(۸)
As instruction and reminder to every penitent creature.
50:9
وَ نَزَّلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً مُّبٰرَكًا فَاَنْۢبَتْنَا بِهٖ جَنّٰتٍ وَّ حَبَّ الْحَصِیْدِۙ(۹)
And We send down water as a blessing from the sky, and grow gardens with it and the grain for harvest,
50:10
وَ النَّخْلَ بٰسِقٰتٍ لَّهَا طَلْعٌ نَّضِیْدٌۙ(۱۰)
And tall date-palms with their spathes pile on pile
50:11
رِّزْقًا لِّلْعِبَادِۙ-وَ اَحْیَیْنَا بِهٖ بَلْدَةً مَّیْتًاؕ- كَذٰلِكَ الْخُرُوْجُ(۱۱)
As a provision for men, and enlivened a region that was dead. Even thus will be the life after death.
50:12
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوْحٍ وَّ اَصْحٰبُ الرَّسِّ وَ ثَمُوْدُۙ(۱۲)
The people of Noah, Ar-Rass and Thamud denied before you,
50:13
وَ عَادٌ وَّ فِرْعَوْنُ وَ اِخْوَانُ لُوْطٍۙ(۱۳)
As did the people of ´Ad and Pharaoh and the brethren of Lot,
50:14
وَّ اَصْحٰبُ الْاَیْكَةِ وَ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍؕ-كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِیْدِ(۱۴)
And the dwellers of the Wood and people of Tubba´. Each of them denied the apostles. So My threat became a reality.
50:15
اَفَعَیِیْنَا بِالْخَلْقِ الْاَوَّلِؕ-بَلْ هُمْ فِیْ لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِیْدٍ۠(۱۵)
Were We exhausted by the act of the first creation? And yet they are confused about a new creation.
50:16
وَ لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْاِنْسَانَ وَ نَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهٖ نَفْسُهٗ ۚۖ-وَ نَحْنُ اَقْرَبُ اِلَیْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِیْدِ(۱۶)
He created man and surely know what misdoubts arise in their hearts; for We are closer to him than his jugular vein.
50:17
اِذْ یَتَلَقَّى الْمُتَلَقِّیٰنِ عَنِ الْیَمِیْنِ وَ عَنِ الشِّمَالِ قَعِیْدٌ(۱۷)
When the two (angels) who keep the account, one sitting on the right, one on the left, take it down,
50:18
مَا یَلْفِظُ مِنْ قَوْلٍ اِلَّا لَدَیْهِ رَقِیْبٌ عَتِیْدٌ(۱۸)
There is not a word he utters but an observer is ready (to make note of it).
50:19
وَ جَآءَتْ سَكْرَةُ الْمَوْتِ بِالْحَقِّؕ-ذٰلِكَ مَا كُنْتَ مِنْهُ تَحِیْدُ(۱۹)
The palsy of death will surely come. This is what you wished to avert.
50:20
وَ نُفِخَ فِی الصُّوْرِؕ-ذٰلِكَ یَوْمُ الْوَعِیْدِ(۲۰)
And the trumpet blast will sound: It would be the Day of Doom.
50:21
وَ جَآءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّعَهَا سَآىٕقٌ وَّ شَهِیْدٌ(۲۱)
Each soul will come with a driver and a witness.
50:22
لَقَدْ كُنْتَ فِیْ غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنْكَ غِطَآءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ الْیَوْمَ حَدِیْدٌ(۲۲)
(And the driver will say:) "You were oblivious of this, so we have removed the veil, and how keen is your sight today!"
50:23
وَ قَالَ قَرِیْنُهٗ هٰذَا مَا لَدَیَّ عَتِیْدٌؕ(۲۳)
His companion will say: "Here is (the record) I have ready with me."
50:24
اَلْقِیَا فِیْ جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِیْدٍۙ(۲۴)
"Cast each stubborn unbeliever into Hell," (they will be told),
50:25
مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَیْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُّرِیْبِۙﹰ(۲۵)
"Every obstructor of good, transgressor, and the sceptic,
50:26
الَّذِیْ جَعَلَ مَعَ اللّٰهِ اِلٰهًا اٰخَرَ فَاَلْقِیٰهُ فِی الْعَذَابِ الشَّدِیْدِ(۲۶)
Who had set up another god with God. Cast him into severe torment."
50:27
قَالَ قَرِیْنُهٗ رَبَّنَا مَاۤ اَطْغَیْتُهٗ وَ لٰكِنْ كَانَ فِیْ ضَلٰلٍۭ بَعِیْدٍ(۲۷)
His companion will say: "O Lord, I did not lead him to wickedness, but he was himself far astray."
50:28
قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوْا لَدَیَّ وَ قَدْ قَدَّمْتُ اِلَیْكُمْ بِالْوَعِیْدِ(۲۸)
"Do not argue in My presence. I had announced the promise of doom in advance.
50:29
مَا یُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَیَّ وَ مَاۤ اَنَا بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِیْدِ۠(۲۹)
There is no changing of My word, nor am I unjust to My creatures."
50:30
یَوْمَ نَقُوْلُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ امْتَلَاْتِ وَ تَقُوْلُ هَلْ مِنْ مَّزِیْدٍ(۳۰)
We shall ask Hell that day: "Are you full?" It will answer: "Are there still more?"
50:31
وَ اُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِیْنَ غَیْرَ بَعِیْدٍ(۳۱)
And Paradise will be brought near, not far from those who took heed for themselves and feared God.
50:32
هٰذَا مَا تُوْعَدُوْنَ لِكُلِّ اَوَّابٍ حَفِیْظٍۚ(۳۲)
"This is what you had been promised," (will be said) to every penitent who remembered (his duty),
50:33
مَنْ خَشِیَ الرَّحْمٰنَ بِالْغَیْبِ وَ جَآءَ بِقَلْبٍ مُّنِیْبِۙﹰ(۳۳)
Who feared Ar-Rahman in secret, and came with a penitent heart:
50:34
ادْخُلُوْهَا بِسَلٰمٍؕ-ذٰلِكَ یَوْمُ الْخُلُوْدِ(۳۴)
"Enter it in peace. This is the day of life abiding."
50:35
لَهُمْ مَّا یَشَآءُوْنَ فِیْهَا وَ لَدَیْنَا مَزِیْدٌ(۳۵)
Theirs will be whatsoever they wish: And with Us there is more.
50:36
وَ كَمْ اَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِّنْ قَرْنٍ هُمْ اَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوْا فِی الْبِلَادِؕ-هَلْ مِنْ مَّحِیْصٍ(۳۶)
How many generations have We destroyed before them who were mightier in power than they. Then they searched throughout the land to see if there was a way of escape.
50:37
اِنَّ فِیْ ذٰلِكَ لَذِكْرٰى لِمَنْ كَانَ لَهٗ قَلْبٌ اَوْ اَلْقَى السَّمْعَ وَ هُوَ شَهِیْدٌ(۳۷)
Surely there is a reminder in this for whosoever has a heart (to feel), or takes heed.
50:38
وَ لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضَ وَ مَا بَیْنَهُمَا فِیْ سِتَّةِ اَیَّامٍ ﳓ وَّ مَا مَسَّنَا مِنْ لُّغُوْبٍ(۳۸)
We created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, in six spans, and no weariness came upon Us.
50:39
فَاصْبِرْ عَلٰى مَا یَقُوْلُوْنَ وَ سَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوْعِ الشَّمْسِ وَ قَبْلَ الْغُرُوْبِۚ(۳۹)
So you bear with patience what they say, and sing the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun and its setting,
50:40
وَ مِنَ الَّیْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَ اَدْبَارَ السُّجُوْدِ(۴۰)
And glorify Him for some portion of the night, and additional adorations.
