Surah Faatir
اَلْفَاطِر
45 Ayaat مکیۃ
اِنَّ اللّٰهَ یُمْسِكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضَ اَنْ تَزُوْلَا ﳛ وَ لَىٕنْ زَالَتَاۤ اِنْ اَمْسَكَهُمَا مِنْ اَحَدٍ مِّنْۢ بَعْدِهٖؕ-اِنَّهٗ كَانَ حَلِیْمًا غَفُوْرًا(۴۱)
Verily God holds the heavens and the earth in position lest they deviate; and if they deviated there will be none to hold them in place, apart from Him He is sagacious and forgiving.
God holds the heavens and the earth, lest they remove; did they remove, none would hold them after Him. Surely He is All-clement, All-forgiving.
وَ اَقْسَمُوْا بِاللّٰهِ جَهْدَ اَیْمَانِهِمْ لَىٕنْ جَآءَهُمْ نَذِیْرٌ لَّیَكُوْنُنَّ اَهْدٰى مِنْ اِحْدَى الْاُمَمِۚ-فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ نَذِیْرٌ مَّا زَادَهُمْ اِ لَّا نُفُوْرَاۙﰳ(۴۲)
The unbelievers swore on oath emphatically that if an admonisher came to them they would be guided better than the other communities. But when the admonisher came to them their aversion for the truth increased,
They have sworn by God the most earnest oaths that if a warner came to them, they would be more rightly guided than any one of the nations; but when a warner came to them, it increased them only in aversion,
اسْتِكْبَارًا فِی الْاَرْضِ وَ مَكْرَ السَّیِّئِؕ-وَ لَا یَحِیْقُ الْمَكْرُ السَّیِّئُ اِلَّا بِاَهْلِهٖؕ-فَهَلْ یَنْظُرُوْنَ اِلَّا سُنَّتَ الْاَوَّلِیْنَۚ-فَلَنْ تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ اللّٰهِ تَبْدِیْلًا ﳛ وَ لَنْ تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ اللّٰهِ تَحْوِیْلًا(۴۳)
As did their arrogance in the land, and their plotting of evil. But their evil plots will turn back on the plotters themselves. So can they expect any thing but what befell the earlier people? You will not find any change in the law of God, nor will you find divine law mutable.
waxing proud in the land, and devising evil; but evil devising encompasses only those who do it; So do they expect anything but the wont of the ancients? And thou shalt never find any changing the Wont of God, and thou shalt never find any altering the wont of God.
اَوَ لَمْ یَسِیْرُوْا فِی الْاَرْضِ فَیَنْظُرُوْا كَیْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِیْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ وَ كَانُوْۤا اَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةًؕ-وَ مَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِیُعْجِزَهٗ مِنْ شَیْءٍ فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ لَا فِی الْاَرْضِؕ-اِنَّهٗ كَانَ عَلِیْمًا قَدِیْرًا(۴۴)
Have they not journeyed in the land and seen how the end of those before them, who were far more powerful, came about? There is nothing in the heavens and the earth that can defeat (the law of) God. He is all-knowing and all-powerful.
What, have they not journeyed in the land and beheld how was the end of those before them? They were stronger than themselves in might; but God -- there is naught in the heavens or the earth that can frustrate Him. Surely He is All-knowing, All-powerful.
وَ لَوْ یُؤَاخِذُ اللّٰهُ النَّاسَ بِمَا كَسَبُوْا مَا تَرَكَ عَلٰى ظَهْرِهَا مِنْ دَآبَّةٍ وَّ لٰكِنْ یُّؤَخِّرُهُمْ اِلٰۤى اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّىۚ-فَاِذَا جَآءَ اَجَلُهُمْ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ بِعِبَادِهٖ بَصِیْرًا۠(۴۵)
If God were to seize men for their doings, not a living being would be left upon the earth. But He gives them respite for a time ordained. When their time is come, surely God will keep (the interest of) His creatures in view.
If God should take men to task for what they have earned He would not leave upon the face of the earth one creature that crawls; but He is deferring them to a stated term. But when their term is come -- surely God sees His servants.
