اَلطُّوْر

49 Ayaat مکیۃ

52:0

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful.

52:1

وَ الطُّوْرِۙ(۱)

I CALL TO witness the Mount Sinai,

52:2

وَ كِتٰبٍ مَّسْطُوْرٍۙ(۲)

And the Scripture inscribed

52:3

فِیْ رَقٍّ مَّنْشُوْرٍۙ(۳)

On a parchment scroll unrolled,

52:4

وَّ الْبَیْتِ الْمَعْمُوْرِۙ(۴)

The house ever-peopled,

52:5

وَ السَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوْعِۙ(۵)

The roof raised high,

52:6

وَ الْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُوْرِۙ(۶)

And the swollen sea,

52:7

اِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌۙ(۷)

The punishment of your Lord is certain to come.

52:8

مَّا لَهٗ مِنْ دَافِعٍۙ(۸)

There is none who could avert it.

52:9

یَّوْمَ تَمُوْرُ السَّمَآءُ مَوْرًاۙ(۹)

The day the sky will tremble,

52:10

وَّ تَسِیْرُ الْجِبَالُ سَیْرًاؕ(۱۰)

The mountains move and fly away,

52:11

فَوَیْلٌ یَّوْمَىٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِیْنَۙ(۱۱)

Will be the day of woe for those

52:12

الَّذِیْنَ هُمْ فِیْ خَوْضٍ یَّلْعَبُوْنَۘ(۱۲)

Who, ignoring the Reality, engage in pleasantries.

52:13

یَوْمَ یُدَعُّوْنَ اِلٰى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّاؕ(۱۳)

The day they are dragged and pushed into Hell,

52:14

هٰذِهِ النَّارُ الَّتِیْ كُنْتُمْ بِهَا تُكَذِّبُوْنَ(۱۴)

(And told:) "This is the fire which you denied.

52:15

اَفَسِحْرٌ هٰذَاۤ اَمْ اَنْتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُوْنَۚ(۱۵)

Is it magic, or you cannot see?

52:16

اِصْلَوْهَا فَاصْبِرُوْۤا اَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوْاۚ-سَوَآءٌ عَلَیْكُمْؕ-اِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ(۱۶)

Roast in it. Bear it with patience or impatience, it will be the same for you. You will be requited for what you had done."

52:17

اِنَّ الْمُتَّقِیْنَ فِیْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّ نَعِیْمٍۙ(۱۷)

Those who fear God and follow the straight path will surely be in gardens and in bliss,

52:18

فٰكِهِیْنَ بِمَاۤ اٰتٰىهُمْ رَبُّهُمْۚ-وَ وَقٰىهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِیْمِ(۱۸)

Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell.

52:19

كُلُوْا وَ اشْرَبُوْا هَنِیْٓــٴًـۢا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَۙ(۱۹)

"Eat and drink with relish," (they will be told), (as recompense) for what you had done."

52:20

مُتَّكِـٕیْنَ عَلٰى سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوْفَةٍۚ-وَ زَوَّجْنٰهُمْ بِحُوْرٍ عِیْنٍ(۲۰)

They would recline on couches set in rows, paired with fair companions (clean of thought and) bright of eye.

52:21

وَ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَ اتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّیَّتُهُمْ بِاِیْمَانٍ اَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّیَّتَهُمْ وَ مَاۤ اَلَتْنٰهُمْ مِّنْ عَمَلِهِمْ مِّنْ شَیْءٍؕ-كُلُّ امْرِئٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِیْنٌ(۲۱)

And those who believed, and whose progeny also followed them in their faith, will be united with their offspring. We will not deprive them of their labour in the least. Every man is bound to what he does.

52:22

وَ اَمْدَدْنٰهُمْ بِفَاكِهَةٍ وَّ لَحْمٍ مِّمَّا یَشْتَهُوْنَ(۲۲)

We shall give them fruits and meats, and what they desire.

52:23

یَتَنَازَعُوْنَ فِیْهَا كَاْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِیْهَا وَ لَا تَاْثِیْمٌ(۲۳)

They will exchange cups of wine free of (incitement to) pleasantry or sin.

52:24

وَ یَطُوْفُ عَلَیْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَاَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُوْنٌ(۲۴)

And young attendants like pearls within their shells, will go round.

52:25

وَ اَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلٰى بَعْضٍ یَّتَسَآءَلُوْنَ(۲۵)

They will ask each other questions,

52:26

قَالُوْۤا اِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِیْۤ اَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِیْنَ(۲۶)

Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home.

52:27

فَمَنَّ اللّٰهُ عَلَیْنَا وَ وَقٰىنَا عَذَابَ السَّمُوْمِ(۲۷)

But God has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of scorching wind.

52:28

اِنَّا كُنَّا مِنْ قَبْلُ نَدْعُوْهُؕ-اِنَّهٗ هُوَ الْبَرُّ الرَّحِیْمُ۠(۲۸)

We used to pray to Him erstwhile; He is the just and merciful.

52:29

فَذَكِّرْ فَمَاۤ اَنْتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَّ لَا مَجْنُوْنٍؕ(۲۹)

Remind them, therefore, that by the grace of your Lord you are neither a soothsayer nor possessed.

52:30

اَمْ یَقُوْلُوْنَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهٖ رَیْبَ الْمَنُوْنِ(۳۰)

Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?"

52:31

قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوْا فَاِنِّیْ مَعَكُمْ مِّنَ الْمُتَرَبِّصِیْنَؕ(۳۱)

Tell them: "Keep on expecting, I am expecting with you."

52:32

اَمْ تَاْمُرُهُمْ اَحْلَامُهُمْ بِهٰذَاۤ اَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُوْنَۚ(۳۲)

Does their reasoning prompt them to this, or they are a people rebellious?

52:33

اَمْ یَقُوْلُوْنَ تَقَوَّلَهٗۚ-بَلْ لَّا یُؤْمِنُوْنَۚ(۳۳)

Or do they say: "He has fabricated it?" In fact, they will never believe.

52:34

فَلْیَاْتُوْا بِحَدِیْثٍ مِّثْلِهٖۤ اِنْ كَانُوْا صٰدِقِیْنَؕ(۳۴)

So let them bring a discourse like it, if they are truthful

52:35

اَمْ خُلِقُوْا مِنْ غَیْرِ شَیْءٍ اَمْ هُمُ الْخٰلِقُوْنَؕ(۳۵)

Or were they created of themselves? Or are they the creators?

52:36

اَمْ خَلَقُوا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضَۚ-بَلْ لَّا یُوْقِنُوْنَؕ(۳۶)

Or have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact they are certain of nothing.

52:37

اَمْ عِنْدَهُمْ خَزَآىٕنُ رَبِّكَ اَمْ هُمُ الْمُصَۜیْطِرُوْنَؕ(۳۷)

Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the treasurers?

52:38

اَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ یَّسْتَمِعُوْنَ فِیْهِۚ-فَلْیَاْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُمْ بِسُلْطٰنٍ مُّبِیْنٍؕ(۳۸)

Or do they have a ladder (climbing which) they can hear (the secrets of heaven)? Let one who has heard then bring a clear proof.

52:39

اَمْ لَهُ الْبَنٰتُ وَ لَكُمُ الْبَنُوْنَؕ(۳۹)

Has (God) daughters and they sons?

52:40

اَمْ تَسْــٴَـلُهُمْ اَجْرًا فَهُمْ مِّنْ مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُوْنَؕ(۴۰)

Or do you demand any wages from them so that they are burdened with expense?
