اَلتَّكْوِيْر

29 Ayaat مکیۃ

81:0

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

81:1

اِذَا الشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْﭪ(۱)

WHEN THE SUN is folded up,

When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up;

81:2

وَ اِذَا النُّجُوْمُ انْكَدَرَتْﭪ(۲)

The stars turn dim and scatter,

When the stars fall, losing their lustre;

81:3

وَ اِذَا الْجِبَالُ سُیِّرَتْﭪ(۳)

The mountains made to move,

When the mountains vanish (like a mirage);

81:4

وَ اِذَا الْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْﭪ(۴)

The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned,

When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended;

81:5

وَ اِذَا الْوُحُوْشُ حُشِرَتْﭪ(۵)

The wild beasts stampede on the run,

When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations);

81:6

وَ اِذَا الْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْﭪ(۶)

When the oceans surge and swell,

When the oceans boil over with a swell;

81:7

وَ اِذَا النُّفُوْسُ زُوِّجَتْﭪ(۷)

When souls are reunited (with the bodies)

When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like);

81:8

وَ اِذَا الْمَوْءٗدَةُ سُىٕلَتْﭪ(۸)

And the little girl buried alive is asked

When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned -

81:9

بِاَیِّ ذَنْۢبٍ قُتِلَتْۚ(۹)

For what crime she was put to death;

For what crime she was killed;

81:10

وَ اِذَا الصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْﭪ(۱۰)

When the ledgers are laid open,

When the scrolls are laid open;

81:11

وَ اِذَا السَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتْﭪ(۱۱)

The curtain drawn back from the skies,

When the world on High is unveiled;

81:12

وَ اِذَا الْجَحِیْمُ سُعِّرَتْﭪ(۱۲)

When Hell is set ablaze,

When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat;

81:13

وَ اِذَا الْجَنَّةُ اُزْلِفَتْﭪ(۱۳)

And Paradise brought near,

And when the Garden is brought near;-

81:14

عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّاۤ اَحْضَرَتْؕ(۱۴)

(Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself).

(Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward.

81:15

فَلَاۤ اُقْسِمُ بِالْخُنَّسِۙ(۱۵)

So, I call the receding stars to witness,

So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede,

81:16

الْجَوَارِ الْكُنَّسِۙ(۱۶)

The planets withdrawing into themselves,

Go straight, or hide;

81:17

وَ الَّیْلِ اِذَا عَسْعَسَۙ(۱۷)

The closing night,

And the Night as it dissipates;

81:18

وَ الصُّبْحِ اِذَا تَنَفَّسَۙ(۱۸)

The rising dawn,

And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;-

81:19

اِنَّهٗ لَقَوْلُ رَسُوْلٍ كَرِیْمٍۙ(۱۹)

That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger,

Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger,

81:20

ذِیْ قُوَّةٍ عِنْدَ ذِی الْعَرْشِ مَكِیْنٍۙ(۲۰)

Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne,

Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne,

81:21

مُّطَاعٍ ثَمَّ اَمِیْنٍؕ(۲۱)

Obeyed and worthy there of trust.

With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust.

81:22

وَ مَا صَاحِبُكُمْ بِمَجْنُوْنٍۚ(۲۲)

Your companion is not mad.

And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed;

81:23

وَ لَقَدْ رَاٰهُ بِالْاُفُقِ الْمُبِیْنِۚ(۲۳)

He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon.

And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon.

81:24

وَ مَا هُوَ عَلَى الْغَیْبِ بِضَنِیْنٍۚ(۲۴)

He is not chary of making public what is unknown.

Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen.

81:25

وَ مَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَیْطٰنٍ رَّجِیْمٍۙ(۲۵)

This is not the utterance of an accursed devil.

Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed.

81:26

فَاَیْنَ تَذْهَبُوْنَؕ(۲۶)

So whither do you stray?

When whither go ye?

81:27

اِنْ هُوَ اِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعٰلَمِیْنَۙ(۲۷)

This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world,

Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds:

81:28

لِمَنْ شَآءَ مِنْكُمْ اَنْ یَّسْتَقِیْمَؕ(۲۸)

For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight,

(With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight:

81:29

وَ مَا تَشَآءُوْنَ اِلَّاۤ اَنْ یَّشَآءَ اللّٰهُ رَبُّ الْعٰلَمِیْنَ۠(۲۹)

Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds.

But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds.
