READ
Surah Ash-Shu'araa
اَلشُّـعَرَاء
227 Ayaat مکیۃ
"Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again);
وَ الَّذِیْۤ اَطْمَعُ اَنْ یَّغْفِرَ لِیْ خَطِیْٓــٴَـتِیْ یَوْمَ الدِّیْنِؕ(۸۲)
And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement.
"And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment.
رَبِّ هَبْ لِیْ حُكْمًا وَّ اَلْحِقْنِیْ بِالصّٰلِحِیْنَۙ(۸۳)
O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous,
"O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous;
"Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations);
وَ اجْعَلْنِیْ مِنْ وَّرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ النَّعِیْمِۙ(۸۵)
And put me among the inheritors of Paradise.
"Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss;
وَ اغْفِرْ لِاَبِیْۤ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ مِنَ الضَّآلِّیْنَۙ(۸۶)
Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray.
"Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray;
وَ لَا تُخْزِنِیْ یَوْمَ یُبْعَثُوْنَۙ(۸۷)
And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves,
"And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;-
یَوْمَ لَا یَنْفَعُ مَالٌ وَّ لَا بَنُوْنَۙ(۸۸)
The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail
"The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail,
اِلَّا مَنْ اَتَى اللّٰهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِیْمٍؕ(۸۹)
But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart."
"But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart;
وَ اُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِیْنَۙ(۹۰)
Paradise will be brought near those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path;
"To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near,
وَ بُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِیْمُ لِلْغٰوِیْنَۙ(۹۱)
And Hell made visible to those who had gone astray.
"And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view;
وَ قِیْلَ لَهُمْ اَیْنَمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْبُدُوْنَۙ(۹۲)
They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped
"And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped-
مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِؕ-هَلْ یَنْصُرُوْنَكُمْ اَوْ یَنْتَصِرُوْنَؕ(۹۳)
Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?"
"'Besides Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?'
فَكُبْكِبُوْا فِیْهَا هُمْ وَ الْغَاوٗنَۙ(۹۴)
They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray
"Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil,
"And the whole hosts of Iblis together.
"They will say there in their mutual bickerings:
"'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest,
"'When we held you as equals with the Lord of the Worlds;
"'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt.
"'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us),
"'Nor a single friend to feel (for us).
فَلَوْ اَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُوْنَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ(۱۰۲)
If only we could return and be among the believers!"
"'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'"
اِنَّ فِیْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰیَةًؕ-وَ مَا كَانَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ مُّؤْمِنِیْنَ(۱۰۳)
Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe.
Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe.
وَ اِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِیْزُ الرَّحِیْمُ۠(۱۰۴)
Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful.
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوْحِ ﹰالْمُرْسَلِیْنَۚۖ(۱۰۵)
The people of Noah accused the apostles of lies.
The people of Noah rejected the messengers.
اِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ اَخُوْهُمْ نُوْحٌ اَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَۚ(۱۰۶)
When their brother Noah said to them: "Will you not take heed?
Behold, their brother Noah said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?
"I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust:
"So fear Allah, and obey me.
وَ مَاۤ اَسْــٴَـلُكُمْ عَلَیْهِ مِنْ اَجْرٍۚ-اِنْ اَجْرِیَ اِلَّا عَلٰى رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِیْنَۚ(۱۰۹)
I ask no recompense of you for it. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds.
"No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds:
"So fear Allah, and obey me."
قَالُوْۤا اَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَ اتَّبَعَكَ الْاَرْذَلُوْنَؕ(۱۱۱)
They said: "Should we place our trust in you when only the condemned follow you?"
They said: "Shall we believe in thee when it is the meanest that follow thee?"
قَالَ وَ مَا عِلْمِیْ بِمَا كَانُوْا یَعْمَلُوْنَۚ(۱۱۲)
He said: "It is not for me to know what they were doing.
He said: "And what do I know as to what they do?
اِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ اِلَّا عَلٰى رَبِّیْ لَوْ تَشْعُرُوْنَۚ(۱۱۳)
It is for my Lord to bring them to book, if you can understand.
"Their account is only with my Lord, if ye could (but) understand.
وَ مَاۤ اَنَا بِطَارِدِ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَۚ(۱۱۴)
I am certainly not one to drive away the believers.
"I am not one to drive away those who believe.
"I am sent only to warn plainly in public."
قَالُوْا لَىٕنْ لَّمْ تَنْتَهِ یٰنُوْحُ لَتَكُوْنَنَّ مِنَ الْمَرْجُوْمِیْنَؕ(۱۱۶)
They said: "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will be stoned to death."
They said: "If thou desist not, O Noah! thou shalt be stoned (to death)."
قَالَ رَبِّ اِنَّ قَوْمِیْ كَذَّبُوْنِۚۖ(۱۱۷)
He prayed: "O Lord, verily my people accuse me of lies.
He said: "O my Lord! truly my people have rejected me.
فَافْتَحْ بَیْنِیْ وَ بَیْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَّ نَجِّنِیْ وَ مَنْ مَّعِیَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ(۱۱۸)
So adjudge between me and them conclusively, and save me and the believers who are with me."
"Judge Thou, then, between me and them openly, and deliver me and those of the Believers who are with me."
فَاَنْجَیْنٰهُ وَ مَنْ مَّعَهٗ فِی الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُوْنِۚ(۱۱۹)
So We delivered him and those with him in the loaded ark,
So We delivered him and those with him, in the Ark filled (with all creatures).
