Surah an-Najm

اَلنَّجْم

62 Ayaat مکیۃ

53:41

ثُمَّ یُجْزٰىهُ الْجَزَآءَ الْاَوْفٰىۙ(۴۱)

And only then will he receive his recompense in full;

Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete;

53:42

وَ اَنَّ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ الْمُنْتَهٰىۙ(۴۲)

And that to your Lord is your returning;

That to thy Lord is the final Goal;

53:43

وَ اَنَّهٗ هُوَ اَضْحَكَ وَ اَبْكٰىۙ(۴۳)

That it is He who makes you happy and morose,

That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears;

53:44

وَ اَنَّهٗ هُوَ اَمَاتَ وَ اَحْیَاۙ(۴۴)

And He who ordains death and life;

That it is He Who granteth Death and Life;

53:45

وَ اَنَّهٗ خَلَقَ الزَّوْجَیْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَ الْاُنْثٰىۙ(۴۵)

That He created pairs, male and female,

That He did create in pairs,- male and female,

53:46

مِنْ نُّطْفَةٍ اِذَا تُمْنٰى۪(۴۶)

From a drop of semen when emitted;

From a seed when lodged (in its place);

53:47

وَ اَنَّ عَلَیْهِ النَّشْاَةَ الْاُخْرٰىۙ(۴۷)

That the second creation is incumbent on Him;

That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead);

53:48

وَ اَنَّهٗ هُوَ اَغْنٰى وَ اَقْنٰىۙ(۴۸)

That it is He who makes you rich and contented;

That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction;

53:49

وَ اَنَّهٗ هُوَ رَبُّ الشِّعْرٰىۙ(۴۹)

That He is the Lord of Sirius;

That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star);

53:50

وَ اَنَّهٗۤ اَهْلَكَ عَادَاﰳ الْاُوْلٰىۙ(۵۰)

That it was He who destroyed the ´Ad of old,

And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people),

53:51

وَ ثَمُوْدَاۡ فَمَاۤ اَبْقٰىۙ(۵۱)

And Thamud, and did not leave them,

And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life.

53:52

وَ قَوْمَ نُوْحٍ مِّنْ قَبْلُؕ-اِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا هُمْ اَظْلَمَ وَ اَطْغٰىؕ(۵۲)

Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious;

And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors,

53:53

وَ الْمُؤْتَفِكَةَ اَهْوٰىۙ(۵۳)

And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain,

And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah).

53:54

فَغَشّٰىهَا مَا غَشّٰىۚ(۵۴)

So that they were covered over by what they were covered over.

So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up.

53:55

فَبِاَیِّ اٰلَآءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارٰى(۵۵)

How many favours of your Lord will you then deny?

Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about?

53:56

هٰذَا نَذِیْرٌ مِّنَ النُّذُرِ الْاُوْلٰى(۵۶)

He who warns you is one of the warners of old.

This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old!

53:57

اَزِفَتِ الْاٰزِفَةُۚ(۵۷)

What is to come is imminent.

The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh:

53:58

لَیْسَ لَهَا مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ كَاشِفَةٌؕ(۵۸)

There is no one to unveil it apart from God.

No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare.

53:59

اَفَمِنْ هٰذَا الْحَدِیْثِ تَعْجَبُوْنَۙ(۵۹)

Are you astonished at this news,

Do ye then wonder at this recital?

53:60

وَ تَضْحَكُوْنَ وَ لَا تَبْكُوْنَۙ(۶۰)

And keep laughing and do not weep,

And will ye laugh and not weep,-

53:61

وَ اَنْتُمْ سٰمِدُوْنَ(۶۱)

Indulging in pleasantries?

Wasting your time in vanities?

53:62

فَاسْجُدُوْا لِلّٰهِ وَ اعْبُدُوْا۠۩(۶۲)

Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him.

But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)!
