اَلْقِيَامَة

40 Ayaat مکیۃ

75:0

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful.

75:1

لَاۤ اُقْسِمُ بِیَوْمِ الْقِیٰمَةِۙ(۱)

I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection,

75:2

وَ لَاۤ اُقْسِمُ بِالنَّفْسِ اللَّوَّامَةِ(۲)

And I call the reprehensive soul to witness:

75:3

اَیَحْسَبُ الْاِنْسَانُ اَلَّنْ نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهٗؕ(۳)

Does man think We shall not put his bones together?

75:4

بَلٰى قٰدِرِیْنَ عَلٰۤى اَنْ نُّسَوِّیَ بَنَانَهٗ(۴)

Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips.

75:5

بَلْ یُرِیْدُ الْاِنْسَانُ لِیَفْجُرَ اَمَامَهٗۚ(۵)

Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him.

75:6

یَسْــٴَـلُ اَیَّانَ یَوْمُ الْقِیٰمَةِؕ(۶)

He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?"

75:7

فَاِذَا بَرِقَ الْبَصَرُۙ(۷)

Yet when the eyes are dazzled,

75:8

وَ خَسَفَ الْقَمَرُۙ(۸)

The moon eclipsed,

75:9

وَ جُمِعَ الشَّمْسُ وَ الْقَمَرُۙ(۹)

And the sun and moon are conjoined,

75:10

یَقُوْلُ الْاِنْسَانُ یَوْمَىٕذٍ اَیْنَ الْمَفَرُّۚ(۱۰)

That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?"

75:11

كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَؕ(۱۱)

Never so, for there will be no escape.

75:12

اِلٰى رَبِّكَ یَوْمَىٕذِ ﹰالْمُسْتَقَرُّؕ(۱۲)

With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day.

75:13

یُنَبَّؤُا الْاِنْسَانُ یَوْمَىٕذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَ اَخَّرَؕ(۱۳)

Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind.

75:14

بَلِ الْاِنْسَانُ عَلٰى نَفْسِهٖ بَصِیْرَةٌۙ(۱۴)

In fact man is a witness against himself,

75:15

وَّ لَوْ اَلْقٰى مَعَاذِیْرَهٗؕ(۱۵)

Whatever the excuses he may offer.

75:16

لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهٖ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهٖؕ(۱۶)

Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste.

75:17

اِنَّ عَلَیْنَا جَمْعَهٗ وَ قُرْاٰنَهٗۚۖ(۱۷)

Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility.

75:18

فَاِذَا قَرَاْنٰهُ فَاتَّبِـعْ قُرْاٰنَهٗۚ(۱۸)

So, as We recite it, follow its reading.

75:19

ثُمَّ اِنَّ عَلَیْنَا بَیَانَهٗؕ(۱۹)

The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us.

75:20

كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّوْنَ الْعَاجِلَةَۙ(۲۰)

But no. You love this transient life,

75:21

وَ تَذَرُوْنَ الْاٰخِرَةَؕ(۲۱)

And neglect the Hereafter.

75:22

وُجُوْهٌ یَّوْمَىٕذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌۙ(۲۲)

How many faces will be refulgent on that Day,

75:23

اِلٰى رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌۚ(۲۳)

Waiting for their Lord.

75:24

وَ وُجُوْهٌ یَّوْمَىٕذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌۙ(۲۴)

And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone

75:25

تَظُنُّ اَنْ یُّفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌؕ(۲۵)

Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them.

75:26

كَلَّاۤ اِذَا بَلَغَتِ التَّرَاقِیَۙ(۲۶)

Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula,

75:27

وَ قِیْلَ مَنْٚ-رَاقٍۙ(۲۷)

And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?"

75:28

وَّ ظَنَّ اَنَّهُ الْفِرَاقُۙ(۲۸)

He will then realise it is the parting,

75:29

وَ الْتَفَّتِ السَّاقُ بِالسَّاقِۙ(۲۹)

And anguish will be heaped upon anguish:

75:30

اِلٰى رَبِّكَ یَوْمَىٕذِ-ﹰالْمَسَاقُ(۳۰)ﮒ

To your Lord then will be the driving.

75:31

فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَ لَا صَلّٰىۙ(۳۱)

For he neither believed nor prayed,

75:32

وَ لٰكِنْ كَذَّبَ وَ تَوَلّٰىۙ(۳۲)

But only disavowed and turned away;

75:33

ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ اِلٰۤى اَهْلِهٖ یَتَمَطّٰىؕ(۳۳)

Then he strutted back to his people.

75:34

اَوْلٰى لَكَ فَاَوْلٰىۙ(۳۴)

Alas the woe for you, alas!

75:35

ثُمَّ اَوْلٰى لَكَ فَاَوْلٰىؕ(۳۵)

Alas, the woe for you!

75:36

اَیَحْسَبُ الْاِنْسَانُ اَنْ یُّتْرَكَ سُدًىؕ(۳۶)

Does man think that he will be left alone to himself, free?

75:37

اَلَمْ یَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّنْ مَّنِیٍّ یُّمْنٰىۙ(۳۷)

Was he not an emitted drop of semen,

75:38

ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوّٰىۙ(۳۸)

Then formed into an embryo? Then He fashioned, shaped and proportioned

75:39

فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ الزَّوْجَیْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَ الْاُنْثٰىؕ(۳۹)

And assigned it sexes, male and female.

75:40

اَلَیْسَ ذٰلِكَ بِقٰدِرٍ عَلٰۤى اَنْ یُّحْیِﰯ الْمَوْتٰى۠(۴۰)

Cannot such as He bring the dead to life?
