Surah al-Qamar
اَلْقَمَر
55 Ayaat مکیۃ
The warnings came also to Pharaoh's folk.
كَذَّبُوْا بِاٰیٰتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَاَخَذْنٰهُمْ اَخْذَ عَزِیْزٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ(۴۲)
They rejected each one of Our signs. So We seized them with the grip of one mighty and powerful.
They cried lies to Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with the seizing of One mighty, omnipotent.
اَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَیْرٌ مِّنْ اُولٰٓىٕكُمْ اَمْ لَكُمْ بَرَآءَةٌ فِی الزُّبُرِۚ(۴۳)
Are the unbelievers among you any better than they? Or is there immunity for you in the Scriptures?
What, are your unbelievers better than those? Or have you an immunity in the Scrolls?
اَمْ یَقُوْلُوْنَ نَحْنُ جَمِیْعٌ مُّنْتَصِرٌ(۴۴)
Or do they say: "We are a well-accoutred army?"
Or do they say, 'We are a congregation that shall be succoured?'
Certainly the host shall be routed, and turn their backs.
بَلِ السَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَ السَّاعَةُ اَدْهٰى وَ اَمَرُّ(۴۶)
Surely the Hour will be the moment of their promise, and that moment will be calamitous and distressing.
Nay, but the Hour is their tryst, and the Hour is very calamitous and bitter.
اِنَّ الْمُجْرِمِیْنَ فِیْ ضَلٰلٍ وَّ سُعُرٍۘ(۴۷)
Surely the sinners are misguided and insane.
Surely the sinners are in error and insanity!
یَوْمَ یُسْحَبُوْنَ فِی النَّارِ عَلٰى وُجُوْهِهِمْؕ-ذُوْقُوْا مَسَّ سَقَرَ(۴۸)
On that Day they will be dragged into the fire faces foremost, (and told:) "Taste the feel of Hell."
The day when they are dragged on their faces into the Fire: 'Taste now the touch of Sakar!'
Surely We have created everything in measure.
وَ مَاۤ اَمْرُنَاۤ اِلَّا وَاحِدَةٌ كَلَمْحٍۭ بِالْبَصَرِ(۵۰)
And Our command is but one (word) swift as the winking of an eye.
Our commandment is but one word, as the twinkling of an eye.
وَ لَقَدْ اَهْلَكْنَاۤ اَشْیَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُّدَّكِرٍ(۵۱)
We have destroyed the likes of you in the past: So is there any one who will be warned?
We have destroyed the likes of you; is there any that will remember?
Every thing that they have done is in the Scrolls,
وَ كُلُّ صَغِیْرٍ وَّ كَبِیْرٍ مُّسْتَطَرٌ(۵۳)
All things small or great have been written down.
and everything, great and small, is inscribed.
اِنَّ الْمُتَّقِیْنَ فِیْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّ نَهَرٍۙ(۵۴)
Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and light,
Surely the godfearing shall dwell amid gardens and a river
