Surah al-Mudathir

اَلْمُدَّثِّر
56 Ayaat    مکیۃ


74:41
عَنِ الْمُجْرِمِیْنَۙ(۴۱)
Of evil-doers:
74:42
مَا سَلَكَكُمْ فِیْ سَقَرَ(۴۲)
"What was it that brought you to Hell?"
74:43
قَالُوْا لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّیْنَۙ(۴۳)
They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations,
74:44
وَ لَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ الْمِسْكِیْنَۙ(۴۴)
And did not feed the needy,
74:45
وَ كُنَّا نَخُوْضُ مَعَ الْخَآىٕضِیْنَۙ(۴۵)
And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate,
74:46
وَ كُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِیَوْمِ الدِّیْنِۙ(۴۶)
And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie
74:47
حَتّٰۤى اَتٰىنَا الْیَقِیْنُؕ(۴۷)
Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us.
74:48
فَمَا تَنْفَعُهُمْ شَفَاعَةُ الشّٰفِعِیْنَؕ(۴۸)
So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them.
74:49
فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ التَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِیْنَۙ(۴۹)
Why then do they turn away from the admonition
74:50
كَاَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُّسْتَنْفِرَةٌۙ(۵۰)
As though they were frightened asses
74:51
فَرَّتْ مِنْ قَسْوَرَةٍؕ(۵۱)
Fleeing from a lion?
74:52
بَلْ یُرِیْدُ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ اَنْ یُّؤْتٰى صُحُفًا مُّنَشَّرَةًۙ(۵۲)
In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets).
74:53
كَلَّاؕ-بَلْ لَّا یَخَافُوْنَ الْاٰخِرَةَؕ(۵۳)
By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter.
74:54
كَلَّاۤ اِنَّهٗ تَذْكِرَةٌۚ(۵۴)
Never so, as this is a reminder.
74:55
فَمَنْ شَآءَ ذَكَرَهٗؕ(۵۵)
Let him then who heeds remember it.
74:56
وَ مَا یَذْكُرُوْنَ اِلَّاۤ اَنْ یَّشَآءَ اللّٰهُؕ-هُوَ اَهْلُ التَّقْوٰى وَ اَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ۠(۵۶)
But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving
