Surah Al-Mu'minun

اَلْمُؤْمِنُوْن
118 Ayaat    مکیۃ


23:0
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful.
23:1
قَدْ اَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَۙ(۱)
THE TRUE BELIEVERS will be successful,
23:2
الَّذِیْنَ هُمْ فِیْ صَلَاتِهِمْ خٰشِعُوْنَۙ(۲)
Who are humble in their service,
23:3
وَ الَّذِیْنَ هُمْ عَنِ اللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُوْنَۙ(۳)
Who shun all frivolities,
23:4
وَ الَّذِیْنَ هُمْ لِلزَّكٰوةِ فٰعِلُوْنَۙ(۴)
Who strive for betterment;
23:5
وَ الَّذِیْنَ هُمْ لِفُرُوْجِهِمْ حٰفِظُوْنَۙ(۵)
Who guard their sex
23:6
اِلَّا عَلٰۤى اَزْوَاجِهِمْ اَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ اَیْمَانُهُمْ فَاِنَّهُمْ غَیْرُ مَلُوْمِیْنَۚ(۶)
Except from their wives and women slaves of old are free of blame,
23:7
فَمَنِ ابْتَغٰى وَرَآءَ ذٰلِكَ فَاُولٰٓىٕكَ هُمُ الْعٰدُوْنَۚ(۷)
But those who covet more than this will be transgressors;
23:8
وَ الَّذِیْنَ هُمْ لِاَمٰنٰتِهِمْ وَ عَهْدِهِمْ رٰعُوْنَۙ(۸)
And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises;
23:9
وَ الَّذِیْنَ هُمْ عَلٰى صَلَوٰتِهِمْ یُحَافِظُوْنَۘ(۹)
And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer.
23:10
اُولٰٓىٕكَ هُمُ الْوٰرِثُوْنَۙ(۱۰)
These are the real gainers,
23:11
الَّذِیْنَ یَرِثُوْنَ الْفِرْدَوْسَؕ-هُمْ فِیْهَا خٰلِدُوْنَ(۱۱)
Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever.
23:12
وَ لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْاِنْسَانَ مِنْ سُلٰلَةٍ مِّنْ طِیْنٍۚ(۱۲)
We created man from the finest extract of clay,
23:13
ثُمَّ جَعَلْنٰهُ نُطْفَةً فِیْ قَرَارٍ مَّكِیْنٍ۪(۱۳)
Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging;
23:14
ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا النُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْمُضْغَةَ عِظٰمًا فَكَسَوْنَا الْعِظٰمَ لَحْمًاۗ-ثُمَّ اَنْشَاْنٰهُ خَلْقًا اٰخَرَؕ-فَتَبٰرَكَ اللّٰهُ اَحْسَنُ الْخٰلِقِیْنَؕ(۱۴)
Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators.
23:15
ثُمَّ اِنَّكُمْ بَعْدَ ذٰلِكَ لَمَیِّتُوْنَؕ(۱۵)
And then you will certainly die,
23:16
ثُمَّ اِنَّكُمْ یَوْمَ الْقِیٰمَةِ تُبْعَثُوْنَ(۱۶)
Then will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection.
23:17
وَ لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعَ طَرَآىٕقَ ﳓ وَ مَا كُنَّا عَنِ الْخَلْقِ غٰفِلِیْنَ(۱۷)
We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation.
23:18
وَ اَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍ فَاَسْكَنّٰهُ فِی الْاَرْضِ ﳓ وَ اِنَّا عَلٰى ذَهَابٍۭ بِهٖ لَقٰدِرُوْنَۚ(۱۸)
We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away.
23:19
فَاَنْشَاْنَا لَكُمْ بِهٖ جَنّٰتٍ مِّنْ نَّخِیْلٍ وَّ اَعْنَابٍۘ-لَكُمْ فِیْهَا فَوَاكِهُ كَثِیْرَةٌ وَّ مِنْهَا تَاْكُلُوْنَۙ(۱۹)
We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat.
23:20
وَ شَجَرَةً تَخْرُ جُ مِنْ طُوْرِ سَیْنَآءَ تَنْۢبُتُ بِالدُّهْنِ وَ صِبْغٍ لِّلْاٰكِلِیْنَ(۲۰)
The tree that grows on Mount Sinai yields oil and seasoning for those who eat.
23:21
وَ اِنَّ لَكُمْ فِی الْاَنْعَامِ لَعِبْرَةًؕ-نُسْقِیْكُمْ مِّمَّا فِیْ بُطُوْنِهَا وَ لَكُمْ فِیْهَا مَنَافِعُ كَثِیْرَةٌ وَّ مِنْهَا تَاْكُلُوْنَۙ(۲۱)
There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat;
23:22
وَ عَلَیْهَا وَ عَلَى الْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُوْنَ۠(۲۲)
And you are carried on them and on boats.
23:23
وَ لَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَا نُوْحًا اِلٰى قَوْمِهٖ فَقَالَ یٰقَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ اِلٰهٍ غَیْرُهٗؕ-اَفَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَ(۲۳)
We sent Noah to his people. He said: "O my people, worship God, for you have no other god but He. Will you not take heed for yourselves?"
23:24
فَقَالَ الْمَلَؤُا الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْ قَوْمِهٖ مَا هٰذَاۤ اِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْۙ-یُرِیْدُ اَنْ یَّتَفَضَّلَ عَلَیْكُمْؕ-وَ لَوْ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ لَاَنْزَلَ مَلٰٓىٕكَةً ۚۖ-مَّا سَمِعْنَا بِهٰذَا فِیْۤ اٰبَآىٕنَا الْاَوَّلِیْنَۚ(۲۴)
The chiefs of his people, who did not believe, said: "He is only a man like you. He wishes to acquire ascendancy over you. If God had willed He would have sent down angels. We never heard this from our elders.
23:25
اِنْ هُوَ اِلَّا رَجُلٌۢ بِهٖ جِنَّةٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوْا بِهٖ حَتّٰى حِیْنٍ(۲۵)
He is only a man possessed; so wait and watch him for a time."
23:26
قَالَ رَبِّ انْصُرْنِیْ بِمَا كَذَّبُوْنِ(۲۶)
"O my Lord," prayed (Noah), "help me against them, for they accuse me of lies."
23:27
فَاَوْحَیْنَاۤ اِلَیْهِ اَنِ اصْنَعِ الْفُلْكَ بِاَعْیُنِنَا وَ وَحْیِنَا فَاِذَا جَآءَ اَمْرُنَا وَ فَارَ التَّنُّوْرُۙ-فَاسْلُكْ فِیْهَا مِنْ كُلٍّ زَوْجَیْنِ اثْنَیْنِ وَ اَهْلَكَ اِلَّا مَنْ سَبَقَ عَلَیْهِ الْقَوْلُ مِنْهُمْۚ-وَ لَا تُخَاطِبْنِیْ فِی الَّذِیْنَ ظَلَمُوْاۚ-اِنَّهُمْ مُّغْرَقُوْنَ(۲۷)
So We asked him to build the ark under Our eyes and guidance, (and said): "When Our command is issued and the source of water boils over, put a pair of every species in it, and your family except those for whom Our sentence has been passed already; and do not speak to Me for those who are wicked: They will be drowned.
23:28
فَاِذَا اسْتَوَیْتَ اَنْتَ وَ مَنْ مَّعَكَ عَلَى الْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِیْ نَجّٰىنَا مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظّٰلِمِیْنَ(۲۸)
When you and those with you have boarded the ark, say: ´All praise be to God who has delivered us from the people who were sinful.´
23:29
وَ قُلْ رَّبِّ اَنْزِلْنِیْ مُنْزَلًا مُّبٰرَكًا وَّ اَنْتَ خَیْرُ الْمُنْزِلِیْنَ(۲۹)
And say: ´O Lord, disembark me in a welcome place; You are the best of deliverers.´
23:30
اِنَّ فِیْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰیٰتٍ وَّ اِنْ كُنَّا لَمُبْتَلِیْنَ(۳۰)
There were surely signs in this; We will surely put you to the test.
23:31
ثُمَّ اَنْشَاْنَا مِنْۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا اٰخَرِیْنَۚ(۳۱)
After them We raised a new generation.
23:32
فَاَرْسَلْنَا فِیْهِمْ رَسُوْلًا مِّنْهُمْ اَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ اِلٰهٍ غَیْرُهٗؕ-اَفَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَ۠(۳۲)
Then We sent to them an apostle from among them (who said): "Worship God, for you have no other god but He. Will you not take heed and fear God?"
23:33
وَ قَالَ الْمَلَاُ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَ كَذَّبُوْا بِلِقَآءِ الْاٰخِرَةِ وَ اَتْرَفْنٰهُمْ فِی الْحَیٰوةِ الدُّنْیَاۙ-مَا هٰذَاۤ اِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْۙ-یَاْكُلُ مِمَّا تَاْكُلُوْنَ مِنْهُ وَ یَشْرَبُ مِمَّا تَشْرَبُوْنَﭪ (۳۳)
The chiefs of the people who did not believe and denied the life to come, though We had given them good things of this life to enjoy, (said): "He is only a mortal like you. He eats as you do, and drinks as you drink.
23:34
وَ لَىٕنْ اَطَعْتُمْ بَشَرًا مِّثْلَكُمْ اِنَّكُمْ اِذًا لَّخٰسِرُوْنَۙ(۳۴)
So if you follow a man like yourself you will certainly be doomed.
23:35
اَیَعِدُكُمْ اَنَّكُمْ اِذَا مِتُّمْ وَ كُنْتُمْ تُرَابًا وَّ عِظَامًا اَنَّكُمْ مُّخْرَجُوْنَﭪ(۳۵)
Does he give you a promise that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be raised to life again?
23:36
هَیْهَاتَ هَیْهَاتَ لِمَا تُوْعَدُوْنَﭪ(۳۶)
How far-fetched what you are promised;
23:37
اِنْ هِیَ اِلَّا حَیَاتُنَا الدُّنْیَا نَمُوْتُ وَ نَحْیَا وَ مَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْعُوْثِیْنَﭪ(۳۷)
There is only the life of this world: We die and we live: there is no rising from the dead for us.
23:38
اِنْ هُوَ اِلَّا رَجُلُ-ﰳافْتَرٰى عَلَى اللّٰهِ كَذِبًا وَّ مَا نَحْنُ لَهٗ بِمُؤْمِنِیْنَ(۳۸)
He is just a man who invents a lie about God; we cannot believe in him."
23:39
قَالَ رَبِّ انْصُرْنِیْ بِمَا كَذَّبُوْنِ(۳۹)
(The apostle prayed): "O Lord, deliver me, for they accuse me of lies."
23:40
قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِیْلٍ لَّیُصْبِحُنَّ نٰدِمِیْنَۚ(۴۰)
Answered (the Lord): "They shall wake up repenting soon."
