اَلْمَاعُوْن

107:0

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

107:1

اَرَءَیْتَ الَّذِیْ یُكَذِّبُ بِالدِّیْنِؕ(۱)

HAVE YOU SEEN him who denies the Day of Judgement?

Seest thou one who denies the Judgment (to come)?

107:2

فَذٰلِكَ الَّذِیْ یَدُعُّ الْیَتِیْمَۙ(۲)

It is he who pushes the orphan away,

Then such is the (man) who repulses the orphan (with harshness),

107:3

وَ لَا یَحُضُّ عَلٰى طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِیْنِؕ(۳)

And does not induce others to feed the needy.

And encourages not the feeding of the indigent.

107:4

فَوَیْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّیْنَۙ(۴)

Woe to those who pray

So woe to the worshippers

107:5

الَّذِیْنَ هُمْ عَنْ صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُوْنَۙ(۵)

But who are oblivious of their moral duties,

Who are neglectful of their prayers,

107:6

الَّذِیْنَ هُمْ یُرَآءُوْنَۙ(۶)

Who dissimulate

Those who (want but) to be seen (of men),

107:7

وَ یَمْنَعُوْنَ الْمَاعُوْنَ۠(۷)

And withhold things of common use (from others).

But refuse (to supply) (even) neighbourly needs.
