Surah al-Jinn

اَلْجِنّ
28 Ayaat    مکیۃ


72:0
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful.
72:1
قُلْ اُوْحِیَ اِلَیَّ اَنَّهُ اسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ فَقَالُوْۤا اِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْاٰنًا عَجَبًاۙ(۱)
SAY: "I HAVE been informed that a number of jinns had listened; then said: ´We have heard the wondrous Qur´an,
72:2
یَّهْدِیْۤ اِلَى الرُّشْدِ فَاٰمَنَّا بِهٖؕ-وَ لَنْ نُّشْرِكَ بِرَبِّنَاۤ اَحَدًاۙ(۲)
Which guides to the right path; and we have come to believe in it, and will not associate any one with our Lord.
72:3
وَّ اَنَّهٗ تَعٰلٰى جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا اتَّخَذَ صَاحِبَةً وَّ لَا وَلَدًاۙ(۳)
Exalted is the glory of our Lord; He has neither wife nor son.
72:4
وَّ اَنَّهٗ كَانَ یَقُوْلُ سَفِیْهُنَا عَلَى اللّٰهِ شَطَطًاۙ(۴)
Certainly the foolish among us say preposterous things of God.
72:5
وَّ اَنَّا ظَنَنَّاۤ اَنْ لَّنْ تَقُوْلَ الْاِنْسُ وَ الْجِنُّ عَلَى اللّٰهِ كَذِبًاۙ(۵)
We had in fact thought that men and jinns would never speak a lie about God,
72:6
وَّ اَنَّهٗ كَانَ رِجَالٌ مِّنَ الْاِنْسِ یَعُوْذُوْنَ بِرِجَالٍ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ فَزَادُوْهُمْ رَهَقًاۙ(۶)
But some men used to seek refuge with some jinns, and this increased their waywardness;
72:7
وَّ اَنَّهُمْ ظَنُّوْا كَمَا ظَنَنْتُمْ اَنْ لَّنْ یَّبْعَثَ اللّٰهُ اَحَدًاۙ(۷)
So they began to think, even as you do, that God would not resurrect any one.
72:8
وَّ اَنَّا لَمَسْنَا السَّمَآءَ فَوَجَدْنٰهَا مُلِئَتْ حَرَسًا شَدِیْدًا وَّ شُهُبًاۙ(۸)
We sought to pry into the secrets of the heavens, but found it full of fierce guards and shooting flames.
72:9
وَّ اَنَّا كُنَّا نَقْعُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَاعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِؕ-فَمَنْ یَّسْتَمِعِ الْاٰنَ یَجِدْ لَهٗ شِهَابًا رَّصَدًاۙ(۹)
We sat in observatories to listen; but any one who listened found a shooting star in wait for him.
72:10
وَّ اَنَّا لَا نَدْرِیْۤ اَشَرٌّ اُرِیْدَ بِمَنْ فِی الْاَرْضِ اَمْ اَرَادَ بِهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ رَشَدًاۙ(۱۰)
We do not know if this means ill for the dwellers of the earth, or their Lord wishes guidance for them.
72:11
وَّ اَنَّا مِنَّا الصّٰلِحُوْنَ وَ مِنَّا دُوْنَ ذٰلِكَؕ-كُنَّا طَرَآىٕقَ قِدَدًاۙ(۱۱)
For some of us are upright and some otherwise: Surely we follow different ways.
72:12
وَّ اَنَّا ظَنَنَّاۤ اَنْ لَّنْ نُّعْجِزَ اللّٰهَ فِی الْاَرْضِ وَ لَنْ نُّعْجِزَهٗ هَرَبًاۙ(۱۲)
We realised that we could not weaken the power of God on earth, nor outpace Him by running away.
72:13
وَّ اَنَّا لَمَّا سَمِعْنَا الْهُدٰۤى اٰمَنَّا بِهٖؕ-فَمَنْ یُّؤْمِنْۢ بِرَبِّهٖ فَلَا یَخَافُ بَخْسًا وَّ لَا رَهَقًاۙ(۱۳)
So when we heard the guidance we believed in it; and he who believes in his Lord will neither fear loss nor force.
72:14
وَّ اَنَّا مِنَّا الْمُسْلِمُوْنَ وَ مِنَّا الْقٰسِطُوْنَؕ-فَمَنْ اَسْلَمَ فَاُولٰٓىٕكَ تَحَرَّوْا رَشَدًا(۱۴)
Some of us have come to submission, and some of us are iniquitous.´" Those who have submitted have taken the right course;
72:15
وَ اَمَّا الْقٰسِطُوْنَ فَكَانُوْا لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبًاۙ(۱۵)
But those who are iniquitous will be fuel for Hell.
72:16
وَّ اَنْ لَّوِ اسْتَقَامُوْا عَلَى الطَّرِیْقَةِ لَاَسْقَیْنٰهُمْ مَّآءً غَدَقًاۙ(۱۶)
(Say): "If they keep to the right path We shall give them water in abundance to drink
72:17
لِّنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِیْهِؕ-وَ مَنْ یُّعْرِضْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ رَبِّهٖ یَسْلُكْهُ عَذَابًا صَعَدًاۙ(۱۷)
In order to try them through it. But whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, will be given increasing torment by Him."
72:18
وَّ اَنَّ الْمَسٰجِدَ لِلّٰهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوْا مَعَ اللّٰهِ اَحَدًاۙ(۱۸)
All places of worship are for God; so do not invoke any one with God.
72:19
وَّ اَنَّهٗ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ اللّٰهِ یَدْعُوْهُ كَادُوْا یَكُوْنُوْنَ عَلَیْهِ لِبَدًا(۱۹)ﮒ
When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen).
72:20
قُلْ اِنَّمَاۤ اَدْعُوْا رَبِّیْ وَ لَاۤ اُشْرِكُ بِهٖۤ اَحَدًا(۲۰)
Say: "I call on my Lord alone and I do not associate any one with Him."
72:21
قُلْ اِنِّیْ لَاۤ اَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّا وَّ لَا رَشَدًا(۲۱)
Say: "Neither is your loss within my power nor bringing you to guidance."
72:22
قُلْ اِنِّیْ لَنْ یُّجِیْرَنِیْ مِنَ اللّٰهِ اَحَدٌ ﳔ وَّ لَنْ اَجِدَ مِنْ دُوْنِهٖ مُلْتَحَدًاۙ(۲۲)
Say: "No one can save me from God, nor can I find a place of refuge apart from Him,
72:23
اِلَّا بَلٰغًا مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَ رِسٰلٰتِهٖؕ-وَ مَنْ یَّعْصِ اللّٰهَ وَ رَسُوْلَهٗ فَاِنَّ لَهٗ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خٰلِدِیْنَ فِیْهَاۤ اَبَدًاؕ(۲۳)
Unless I convey from God and deliver His message." For those who disobey God and His Apostle is the fire of Hell, where they will abide for ever;
72:24
حَتّٰۤى اِذَا رَاَوْا مَا یُوْعَدُوْنَ فَسَیَعْلَمُوْنَ مَنْ اَضْعَفُ نَاصِرًا وَّ اَقَلُّ عَدَدًا(۲۴)
Until they see what they are promised, when they will understand who is weaker in aid and poorer in numbers.
72:25
قُلْ اِنْ اَدْرِیْۤ اَقَرِیْبٌ مَّا تُوْعَدُوْنَ اَمْ یَجْعَلُ لَهٗ رَبِّیْۤ اَمَدًا(۲۵)
Say: "I do not know if what is promised you is near, or if my Lord prolongs its term.
72:26
عٰلِمُ الْغَیْبِ فَلَا یُظْهِرُ عَلٰى غَیْبِهٖۤ اَحَدًاۙ(۲۶)
He is the knower of the Unknown, and He does not divulge His secret to any one
72:27
اِلَّا مَنِ ارْتَضٰى مِنْ رَّسُوْلٍ فَاِنَّهٗ یَسْلُكُ مِنْۢ بَیْنِ یَدَیْهِ وَ مِنْ خَلْفِهٖ رَصَدًاۙ(۲۷)
Other than an apostle He has chosen, when He makes a sentinel walk in front of him and a sentinel behind,
72:28
لِّیَعْلَمَ اَنْ قَدْ اَبْلَغُوْا رِسٰلٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَ اَحَاطَ بِمَا لَدَیْهِمْ وَ اَحْصٰى كُلَّ شَیْءٍ عَدَدًا۠(۲۸)
So that He may know if they have delivered their Lord´s messages. He comprehends all that has been given them, and keeps count of everything.
