105:0

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

105:1

اَلَمْ تَرَ كَیْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِاَصْحٰبِ الْفِیْلِؕ(۱)

HAVE YOU NOT seen how your Lord dealt with the people of the elephants?

Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the Companions of the Elephant?

105:2

اَلَمْ یَجْعَلْ كَیْدَهُمْ فِیْ تَضْلِیْلٍۙ(۲)

Did He not make their plan go wrong,

Did He not make their treacherous plan go astray?

105:3

وَّ اَرْسَلَ عَلَیْهِمْ طَیْرًا اَبَابِیْلَۙ(۳)

And sent hordes of chargers flying against them,

And He sent against them Flights of Birds,

105:4

تَرْمِیْهِمْ بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّنْ سِجِّیْلٍﭪ(۴)

(While) you were pelting them with stones of porphyritic lava,

Striking them with stones of baked clay.

105:5

فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَّاْكُوْلٍ۠(۵)

And turned them into pastured fields of corn?

Then did He make them like an empty field of stalks and straw, (of which the corn) has been eaten up.
