Surah al-Buruj

اَلْبُرُوْج
22 Ayaat    مکیۃ


85:0
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful.
85:1
وَ السَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوْجِۙ(۱)
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac,
85:2
وَ الْیَوْمِ الْمَوْعُوْدِۙ(۲)
And the promised day,
85:3
وَ شَاهِدٍ وَّ مَشْهُوْدٍؕ(۳)
And the witness and the witnessed,
85:4
قُتِلَ اَصْحٰبُ الْاُخْدُوْدِۙ(۴)
That accursed are the men of the trench
85:5
النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُوْدِۙ(۵)
Full of fire fed by faggots,
85:6
اِذْ هُمْ عَلَیْهَا قُعُوْدٌۙ(۶)
As they sat around it
85:7
وَّ هُمْ عَلٰى مَا یَفْعَلُوْنَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ شُهُوْدٌؕ(۷)
Witnessing what they had done to the believers!
85:8
وَ مَا نَقَمُوْا مِنْهُمْ اِلَّاۤ اَنْ یُّؤْمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ الْعَزِیْزِ الْحَمِیْدِۙ(۸)
They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise,
85:9
الَّذِیْ لَهٗ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِؕ-وَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَیْءٍ شَهِیْدٌؕ(۹)
Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything.
85:10
اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ یَتُوْبُوْا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَ لَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِیْقِؕ(۱۰)
Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning.
85:11
اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنّٰتٌ تَجْرِیْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ ﲜ ذٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِیْرُؕ(۱۱)
Surely for those who believe and do the right are gardens with rivers running by. That is the greatest success.
85:12
اِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِیْدٌؕ(۱۲)
The grip of your Lord is severe indeed!
85:13
اِنَّهٗ هُوَ یُبْدِئُ وَ یُعِیْدُۚ(۱۳)
It is verily He who initiates and repeats.
85:14
وَ هُوَ الْغَفُوْرُ الْوَدُوْدُۙ(۱۴)
He is the forgiving and the loving,
85:15
ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِیْدُۙ(۱۵)
The Lord of the glorious Throne,
85:16
فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا یُرِیْدُؕ(۱۶)
Who does as He pleases.
85:17
هَلْ اَتٰىكَ حَدِیْثُ الْجُنُوْدِۙ(۱۷)
Has the story of the hordes
85:18
فِرْعَوْنَ وَ ثَمُوْدَؕ(۱۸)
Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you?
85:19
بَلِ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا فِیْ تَكْذِیْبٍۙ(۱۹)
Yet the infidels persist in denial.
85:20
وَّ اللّٰهُ مِنْ وَّرَآىٕهِمْ مُّحِیْطٌۚ(۲۰)
But God surrounds them from all sides.
85:21
بَلْ هُوَ قُرْاٰنٌ مَّجِیْدٌۙ(۲۱)
This is indeed the glorious Qur´an
85:22
فِیْ لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوْظٍ۠(۲۲)
(Preserved) on the guarded tablet.
