33:41

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا اللّٰهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِیْرًاۙ(۴۱)

O you who believe, remember God a great deal,

O believers, remember God oft,

33:42

وَّ سَبِّحُوْهُ بُكْرَةً وَّ اَصِیْلًا(۴۲)

And sing His praises morning and evening.

and give Him glory at the dawn and in the evening.

33:43

هُوَ الَّذِیْ یُصَلِّیْ عَلَیْكُمْ وَ مَلٰٓىٕكَتُهٗ لِیُخْرِجَكُمْ مِّنَ الظُّلُمٰتِ اِلَى النُّوْرِؕ-وَ كَانَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ رَحِیْمًا(۴۳)

It is He who sends His blessings on you, as (do) His angels, that He may lead you out of darkness into light, for He is benevolent to the believers.

It is He who blesses you, and His angels, to bring you forth from the shadows into the light. He is All-compassionate to the believers.

33:44

تَحِیَّتُهُمْ یَوْمَ یَلْقَوْنَهٗ سَلٰمٌۖۚ-وَ اَعَدَّ لَهُمْ اَجْرًا كَرِیْمًا(۴۴)

Their greeting on the day they meet Him will be: "Peace;" and He has a generous reward ready for them.

Their greeting, on the day when they shall meet Him, will be 'Peace!' And He has prepared for them a generous wage.

33:45

یٰۤاَیُّهَا النَّبِیُّ اِنَّاۤ اَرْسَلْنٰكَ شَاهِدًا وَّ مُبَشِّرًا وَّ نَذِیْرًاۙ(۴۵)

O Prophet, We have sent you as a witness and a bearer of happy tidings and an admonisher,

O Prophet, We have sent thee as a witness, and good tidings to bear and warning,

33:46

وَّ دَاعِیًا اِلَى اللّٰهِ بِاِذْنِهٖ وَ سِرَاجًا مُّنِیْرًا(۴۶)

And to call (men) to God by His leave, and as a lamp resplendent.

calling unto God by His leave, and as a light-giving lamp.

33:47

وَ بَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ بِاَنَّ لَهُمْ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ فَضْلًا كَبِیْرًا(۴۷)

Give glad tidings to the believers that there is great bounty for them from God.

Give good tidings to the believers that there awaits them with God great bounty.

33:48

وَ لَا تُطِعِ الْكٰفِرِیْنَ وَ الْمُنٰفِقِیْنَ وَ دَعْ اَذٰىهُمْ وَ تَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللّٰهِؕ-وَ كَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ وَكِیْلًا(۴۸)

Do not listen to the unbelievers and the hypocrites. Ignore what they do to hurt you, and put your trust in God. God is sufficient as protector.

And obey not the unbelievers and the hypocrites; heed not their hurt, but put thy trust in God; God suffices as a guardian.

33:49

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْۤا اِذَا نَكَحْتُمُ الْمُؤْمِنٰتِ ثُمَّ طَلَّقْتُمُوْهُنَّ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ تَمَسُّوْهُنَّ فَمَا لَكُمْ عَلَیْهِنَّ مِنْ عِدَّةٍ تَعْتَدُّوْنَهَاۚ-فَمَتِّعُوْهُنَّ وَ سَرِّحُوْهُنَّ سَرَاحًا جَمِیْلًا(۴۹)

O you who believe, when you marry believing women then divorce them before having (sexual) contact with them, you have no right to demand observance of the ´waiting period´ of them. But provide suitably for them, and let them go with honour.

O believers, when you marry believing women and then divorce them before you touch them, you have no period to reckon against them; so make provision for them, and set them free with kindliness.

33:50

یٰۤاَیُّهَا النَّبِیُّ اِنَّاۤ اَحْلَلْنَا لَكَ اَزْوَاجَكَ الّٰتِیْۤ اٰتَیْتَ اُجُوْرَهُنَّ وَ مَا مَلَكَتْ یَمِیْنُكَ مِمَّاۤ اَفَآءَ اللّٰهُ عَلَیْكَ وَ بَنٰتِ عَمِّكَ وَ بَنٰتِ عَمّٰتِكَ وَ بَنٰتِ خَالِكَ وَ بَنٰتِ خٰلٰتِكَ الّٰتِیْ هَاجَرْنَ مَعَكَ٘-وَ امْرَاَةً مُّؤْمِنَةً اِنْ وَّهَبَتْ نَفْسَهَا لِلنَّبِیِّ اِنْ اَرَادَ النَّبِیُّ اَنْ یَّسْتَنْكِحَهَاۗ-خَالِصَةً لَّكَ مِنْ دُوْنِ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَؕ-قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا فَرَضْنَا عَلَیْهِمْ فِیْۤ اَزْوَاجِهِمْ وَ مَا مَلَكَتْ اَیْمَانُهُمْ لِكَیْلَا یَكُوْنَ عَلَیْكَ حَرَجٌؕ-وَ كَانَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوْرًا رَّحِیْمًا(۵۰)

We have made lawful for you, O Prophet, wives to whom you have given their dower, and God-given maids and captives you have married, and the daughters of your father´s brothers and daughters of your father´s sisters, and daughters of your mother´s brothers and sisters, who migrated with you; and a believing woman who offers herself to the Prophet if the Prophet desires to marry her. This is a privilege only for you and not the other believers. We know what We have ordained for them about their wives and maids they possess, so that you may be free of blame, for God is forgiving and kind.

O Prophet, We have made lawful for thee thy wives whom thou hast given their wages and what thy right hand owns, spoils of war that God has given thee, and the daughters of thy uncles paternal and aunts paternal, thy uncles maternal and aunts maternal, who have emigrated with thee, and any woman believer, if she give herself to the Prophet and if the Prophet desire to take her in marriage, for thee exclusively, apart from the believers -- We know what We have imposed upon them touching their wives and what their right hands own -- that there may be no fault in thee; God is All-forgiving, All-compassionate.

33:51

تُرْجِیْ مَنْ تَشَآءُ مِنْهُنَّ وَ تُـْٔوِیْۤ اِلَیْكَ مَنْ تَشَآءُؕ-وَ مَنِ ابْتَغَیْتَ مِمَّنْ عَزَلْتَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَیْكَؕ-ذٰلِكَ اَدْنٰۤى اَنْ تَقَرَّ اَعْیُنُهُنَّ وَ لَا یَحْزَنَّ وَ یَرْضَیْنَ بِمَاۤ اٰتَیْتَهُنَّ كُلُّهُنَّؕ-وَ اللّٰهُ یَعْلَمُ مَا فِیْ قُلُوْبِكُمْؕ-وَ كَانَ اللّٰهُ عَلِیْمًا حَلِیْمًا(۵۱)

You may defer the turn of any of your wives you like, and may take any other you desire. There is no harm if you take any of those (whose turn) you had deferred. This would be better as it would gladden their hearts and they will not grieve, and each will be happy with what you have given her. God knows what is in your heart, for He is all-wise and benign.

Thou mayest put off whom thou wilt of them, and whom thou wilt thou mayest take to thee; and if thou seekest any thou hast set aside there is no fault in thee. So it is likelier they will be comforted, and not sorrow, and every one of them will be well-pleased with what thou givest her. God knows what is in your hearts; God is All-knowing, All-clement.

33:52

لَا یَحِلُّ لَكَ النِّسَآءُ مِنْۢ بَعْدُ وَ لَاۤ اَنْ تَبَدَّلَ بِهِنَّ مِنْ اَزْوَاجٍ وَّ لَوْ اَعْجَبَكَ حُسْنُهُنَّ اِلَّا مَا مَلَكَتْ یَمِیْنُكَؕ-وَ كَانَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَیْءٍ رَّقِیْبًا۠(۵۲)

No other women are lawful for you after this except those you have married, nor to change your present wives for other women even though their beauty should appeal to you. God is watchful of everything.

Thereafter women are not lawful to thee, neither for thee to take other wives in exchange for them, though their beauty please thee, except what thy right hand owns; God is watchful over everything.

33:53

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَدْخُلُوْا بُیُوْتَ النَّبِیِّ اِلَّاۤ اَنْ یُّؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ اِلٰى طَعَامٍ غَیْرَ نٰظِرِیْنَ اِنٰىهُۙ-وَ لٰكِنْ اِذَا دُعِیْتُمْ فَادْخُلُوْا فَاِذَا طَعِمْتُمْ فَانْتَشِرُوْا وَ لَا مُسْتَاْنِسِیْنَ لِحَدِیْثٍؕ-اِنَّ ذٰلِكُمْ كَانَ یُؤْذِی النَّبِیَّ فَیَسْتَحْیٖ مِنْكُمْ٘-وَ اللّٰهُ لَا یَسْتَحْیٖ مِنَ الْحَقِّؕ- وَ اِذَا سَاَلْتُمُوْهُنَّ مَتَاعًا فَسْــٴَـلُوْهُنَّ مِنْ وَّرَآءِ حِجَابٍؕ-ذٰلِكُمْ اَطْهَرُ لِقُلُوْبِكُمْ وَ قُلُوْبِهِنَّؕ-وَ مَا كَانَ لَكُمْ اَنْ تُؤْذُوْا رَسُوْلَ اللّٰهِ وَ لَاۤ اَنْ تَنْكِحُوْۤا اَزْوَاجَهٗ مِنْۢ بَعْدِهٖۤ اَبَدًاؕ-اِنَّ ذٰلِكُمْ كَانَ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ عَظِیْمًا(۵۳)

O you who believe, do not enter the houses of the Prophet for a meal without awaiting the proper time, unless asked, and enter when you are invited, and depart when you have eaten, and do not stay on talking. This puts the Prophet to inconvenience, and he feels embarrassed before you; but God is not embarrassed in (saying) the truth. And when you ask his wife for some thing of utility, ask for it from behind the screen. This is for the purity of your hearts and theirs. It does not behove you to annoy the prophet of God, or to ever marry his wives after him. This would indeed be serious in the sight of God.

O believers, enter not the houses of the Prophet, except leave is given you for a meal, without watching for its hour. But when you are invited, then enter; and when you have had the meal, disperse, neither lingering for idle talk; that is hurtful to the Prophet, and he is ashamed before you; but God is not ashamed before the truth. And when you ask his wives for any object, ask them from behind a curtain; that is cleaner for your hearts and theirs. It is not for you to hurt God's Messenger, neither to marry his wives after him, ever; surely that would be, in God's sight, a monstrous thing.

33:54

اِنْ تُبْدُوْا شَیْــٴًـا اَوْ تُخْفُوْهُ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَیْءٍ عَلِیْمًا(۵۴)

Whether you discuss a thing or conceal it, surely God has knowledge of everything.

Whether you reveal anything, or whether you conceal it, surely God has knowledge of everything.

33:55

لَا جُنَاحَ عَلَیْهِنَّ فِیْۤ اٰبَآىٕهِنَّ وَ لَاۤ اَبْنَآىٕهِنَّ وَ لَاۤ اِخْوَانِهِنَّ وَ لَاۤ اَبْنَآءِ اِخْوَانِهِنَّ وَ لَاۤ اَبْنَآءِ اَخَوٰتِهِنَّ وَ لَا نِسَآىٕهِنَّ وَ لَا مَا مَلَكَتْ اَیْمَانُهُنَّۚ-وَ اتَّقِیْنَ اللّٰهَؕ-اِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَیْءٍ شَهِیْدًا(۵۵)

There is no harm if they come before their fathers or their sons, or their brothers and their brothers´ and sisters´ sons, or their women folk or captive maids they possess. Follow the commands of God. Verily God is witness to everything.

There is no fault in the Prophet's wives touching their fathers, their sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, and what their right hands own. And fear you God; surely God is witness of everything.

33:56

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ وَ مَلٰٓىٕكَتَهٗ یُصَلُّوْنَ عَلَى النَّبِیِّؕ-یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا صَلُّوْا عَلَیْهِ وَ سَلِّمُوْا تَسْلِیْمًا(۵۶)

God and His angels shower their blessings on the Prophet. O believers, you should also send your blessings on him, and salute him with a worthy greeting.

God and His angels bless the Prophet. O believers, do you also bless him, and pray him peace.

33:57

اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ یُؤْذُوْنَ اللّٰهَ وَ رَسُوْلَهٗ لَعَنَهُمُ اللّٰهُ فِی الدُّنْیَا وَ الْاٰخِرَةِ وَ اَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا مُّهِیْنًا(۵۷)

Those who offend God and His Prophet will be damned in this world and the next. There is a shameful punishment ready for them.

Those who hurt God and His Messenger -- them God has cursed in the present world and the world to come, and has prepared for them a humbling chastisement.

33:58

وَ الَّذِیْنَ یُؤْذُوْنَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنٰتِ بِغَیْرِ مَا اكْتَسَبُوْا فَقَدِ احْتَمَلُوْا بُهْتَانًا وَّ اِثْمًا مُّبِیْنًا۠(۵۸)

Those who slander believing men and women for what they have not done, will bear the burden of calumny and clear iniquity.

And those who hurt believing men and believing women, without that they have earned it, have laid upon themselves calumny and manifest sin.

33:59

یٰۤاَیُّهَا النَّبِیُّ قُلْ لِّاَزْوَاجِكَ وَ بَنٰتِكَ وَ نِسَآءِ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ یُدْنِیْنَ عَلَیْهِنَّ مِنْ جَلَابِیْبِهِنَّؕ-ذٰلِكَ اَدْنٰۤى اَنْ یُّعْرَفْنَ فَلَا یُؤْذَیْنَؕ-وَ كَانَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوْرًا رَّحِیْمًا(۵۹)

O Prophet, tell your wives and daughters, and the women of the faithful, to draw their wraps a little over them. They will thus be recognised and no harm will come to them. God is forgiving and kind.

O Prophet, say to thy wives and daughters and the believing women, that they draw their veils close to them; so it is likelier they will be known, and not hurt. God is All-forgiving, All-compassionate.

33:60

لَىٕنْ لَّمْ یَنْتَهِ الْمُنٰفِقُوْنَ وَ الَّذِیْنَ فِیْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ مَّرَضٌ وَّ الْمُرْجِفُوْنَ فِی الْمَدِیْنَةِ لَنُغْرِیَنَّكَ بِهِمْ ثُمَّ لَا یُجَاوِرُوْنَكَ فِیْهَاۤ اِلَّا قَلِیْلًا ﳝ(۶۰)

If the hypocrites and perverts, and the rumour-mongers of Madinah, do not desist even now, We shall rouse you against them, so they would not be able to live but a short time in the city with you.

Now; if the hypocrites do not give over, and those in whose hearts there is sickness and they that make commotion in the city, We shall assuredly urge thee against them and then they will be thy neighbours there only a little;

33:61

مَّلْعُوْنِیْنَۚۛ-اَیْنَمَا ثُقِفُوْۤا اُخِذُوْا وَ قُتِّلُوْا تَقْتِیْلًا(۶۱)

Accursed, they would be seized wherever found, and slain mercilessly.

cursed they shalt be, and wheresoever they are come upon they shall be seized and slaughtered all --

33:62

سُنَّةَ اللّٰهِ فِی الَّذِیْنَ خَلَوْا مِنْ قَبْلُۚ-وَ لَنْ تَجِدَ لِسُنَّةِ اللّٰهِ تَبْدِیْلًا(۶۲)

Such was the law of God among those before you; and you will not find any change in the law of God.

God's wont with those who passed away before; and thou shall find no changing the wont of God.

33:63

یَسْــٴَـلُكَ النَّاسُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِؕ-قُلْ اِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ اللّٰهِؕ-وَ مَا یُدْرِیْكَ لَعَلَّ السَّاعَةَ تَكُوْنُ قَرِیْبًا(۶۳)

People ask you about the Hour (of the great change). Say: "Only God has knowledge of it. Who knows? The Hour may be close at hand."

The people will question thee concerning the Hour. Say: 'The knowledge of it is only with God; what shall make thee know? Haply the Hour is nigh.'

33:64

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَعَنَ الْكٰفِرِیْنَ وَ اَعَدَّ لَهُمْ سَعِیْرًاۙ(۶۴)

Verily God has cursed the infidels, and prepared a blazing fire for them.

God has cursed the unbelievers, and prepared for them a Blaze,

33:65

خٰلِدِیْنَ فِیْهَاۤ اَبَدًاۚ-لَا یَجِدُوْنَ وَلِیًّا وَّ لَا نَصِیْرًاۚ(۶۵)

They will live in it for ever, and will find no saviour or helper.

therein to dwell for ever; they shall find neither protector nor helper.

33:66

یَوْمَ تُقَلَّبُ وُجُوْهُهُمْ فِی النَّارِ یَقُوْلُوْنَ یٰلَیْتَنَاۤ اَطَعْنَا اللّٰهَ وَ اَطَعْنَا الرَّسُوْلَا(۶۶)

The day their faces would be turned on the fire (as on a spit), they will say: "Alas! If only we had obeyed God, and obeyed the Prophet."

Upon the day when their faces are turned about in the Fire they shall say, 'Ah, would we had obeyed God and the Messenger!

33:67

وَ قَالُوْا رَبَّنَاۤ اِنَّاۤ اَطَعْنَا سَادَتَنَا وَ كُبَرَآءَنَا فَاَضَلُّوْنَا السَّبِیْلَا(۶۷)

They will say: "O our Lord, we obeyed our leaders and the elders, but they only led us astray.

They shall say, 'Our Lord, we obeyed our chiefs and great ones, and they led us astray from the way.

33:68

رَبَّنَاۤ اٰتِهِمْ ضِعْفَیْنِ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ وَ الْعَنْهُمْ لَعْنًا كَبِیْرًا۠(۶۸)

O Lord, give them a double punishment, and put a grievous curse upon them."

Our Lord, give them chastisement twofold, and curse them with a mighty curse!'

33:69

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَكُوْنُوْا كَالَّذِیْنَ اٰذَوْا مُوْسٰى فَبَرَّاَهُ اللّٰهُ مِمَّا قَالُوْاؕ-وَ كَانَ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ وَجِیْهًاؕ(۶۹)

O you who believe, do not be like those who maligned Moses, whilst God cleared him of what they alleged; and he was held in high esteem with God.

O believers, be not as those who hurt Moses, but God declared him quit of what they said, and he was high honoured with God.

33:70

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَ قُوْلُوْا قَوْلًا سَدِیْدًاۙ(۷۰)

O you who believe, obey the commands of God, and say straightforward things

O believers, fear God, and speak words hitting the mark,

33:71

یُّصْلِحْ لَكُمْ اَعْمَالَكُمْ وَ یَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوْبَكُمْؕ-وَ مَنْ یُّطِعِ اللّٰهَ وَ رَسُوْلَهٗ فَقَدْ فَازَ فَوْزًا عَظِیْمًا(۷۱)

That He may straighten your affairs for you and forgive your sins; and he who obeys God and His Prophet will be successful.

and He will set right your deeds for you and will forgive you your sins. Whosoever obeys God and His Messenger has won a mighty triumph.

33:72

اِنَّا عَرَضْنَا الْاَمَانَةَ عَلَى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ وَ الْجِبَالِ فَاَبَیْنَ اَنْ یَّحْمِلْنَهَا وَ اَشْفَقْنَ مِنْهَا وَ حَمَلَهَا الْاِنْسَانُؕ-اِنَّهٗ كَانَ ظَلُوْمًا جَهُوْلًاۙ(۷۲)

We had offered the Trust (of divine responsibilities) to the heavens, the earth, the mountains, but they refrained from bearing the burden and were frightened of it; but man took it on himself. He is a faithless ignoramus.

We offered the trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they refused to carry it and were afraid of it; and man carried it. Surely he is sinful, very foolish.

33:73

لِّیُعَذِّبَ اللّٰهُ الْمُنٰفِقِیْنَ وَ الْمُنٰفِقٰتِ وَ الْمُشْرِكِیْنَ وَ الْمُشْرِكٰتِ وَ یَتُوْبَ اللّٰهُ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنٰتِؕ-وَ كَانَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوْرًا رَّحِیْمًا۠(۷۳)

So that God punishes men and women hypocrites, the idolaters and idolatrous women, but He turns to faithful men and women in forgiveness, for God is forgiving and kind.

That God may chastise the hypocrites, men and women alike, and the idolaters, men and women alike; and that God may turn again unto the believers, men and women alike. God is All-forgiving, All-compassionate.
