اَلْعٰدِيٰت

11 Ayaat مکیۃ

100:0

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

100:1

وَ الْعٰدِیٰتِ ضَبْحًاۙ(۱)

I CALL TO witness the chargers, snorting, rushing to battle before the others,

By the (Steeds) that run, with panting (breath),

100:2

فَالْمُوْرِیٰتِ قَدْحًاۙ(۲)

Then those striking sparks of fire,

And strike sparks of fire,

100:3

فَالْمُغِیْرٰتِ صُبْحًاۙ(۳)

Then those charging in the morning

And push home the charge in the morning,

100:4

فَاَثَرْنَ بِهٖ نَقْعًاۙ(۴)

Raising clouds of dust,

And raise the dust in clouds the while,

100:5

فَوَسَطْنَ بِهٖ جَمْعًاۙ(۵)

Penetrating deep into the armies,

And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;-

100:6

اِنَّ الْاِنْسَانَ لِرَبِّهٖ لَكَنُوْدٌۚ(۶)

That man is ungrateful to his Lord

Truly man is, to his Lord, ungrateful;

100:7

وَ اِنَّهٗ عَلٰى ذٰلِكَ لَشَهِیْدٌۚ(۷)

And is himself witness to it,

And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds);

100:8

وَ اِنَّهٗ لِحُبِّ الْخَیْرِ لَشَدِیْدٌؕ(۸)

And is intractable in his love of worldly goods.

And violent is he in his love of wealth.

100:9

اَفَلَا یَعْلَمُ اِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِی الْقُبُوْرِۙ(۹)

Does he not know when the contents of the graves are laid bare

Does he not know,- when that which is in the graves is scattered abroad

100:10

وَ حُصِّلَ مَا فِی الصُّدُوْرِۙ(۱۰)

And the secrets of the hearts exposed,

And that which is (locked up) in (human) breasts is made manifest-

100:11

اِنَّ رَبَّهُمْ بِهِمْ یَوْمَىٕذٍ لَّخَبِیْرٌ۠(۱۱)

Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds).

That their Lord had been Well-acquainted with them, (even to) that Day?
