Surah ad-Dhariyat
اَلذّٰرِيـٰت
60 Ayaat مکیۃ
وَ فِیْ عَادٍ اِذْ اَرْسَلْنَا عَلَیْهِمُ الرِّیْحَ الْعَقِیْمَۚ(۴۱)
In ´Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them,
And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind:
مَا تَذَرُ مِنْ شَیْءٍ اَتَتْ عَلَیْهِ اِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَالرَّمِیْمِؕ(۴۲)
Which turned everything it touched to ashes.
It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness.
وَ فِیْ ثَمُوْدَ اِذْ قِیْلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوْا حَتّٰى حِیْنٍ(۴۳)
And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;"
And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!"
فَعَتَوْا عَنْ اَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَاَخَذَتْهُمُ الصّٰعِقَةُ وَ هُمْ یَنْظُرُوْنَ(۴۴)
But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape,
But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on.
فَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوْا مِنْ قِیَامٍ وَّ مَا كَانُوْا مُنْتَصِرِیْنَۙ(۴۵)
And neither stand up nor defend themselves.
Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves.
وَ قَوْمَ نُوْحٍ مِّنْ قَبْلُؕ-اِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا قَوْمًا فٰسِقِیْنَ۠(۴۶)
(So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people.
So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed.
وَ السَّمَآءَ بَنَیْنٰهَا بِاَیْىدٍ وَّ اِنَّا لَمُوْسِعُوْنَ(۴۷)
We built the heavens by Our authority; and We are the Lord of power and expanse.
With power and skill did We construct the Firmament: for it is We Who create the vastness of pace.
وَ الْاَرْضَ فَرَشْنٰهَا فَنِعْمَ الْمٰهِدُوْنَ(۴۸)
We spread the earth a carpet; what comfort We provide!
And We have spread out the (spacious) earth: How excellently We do spread out!
وَ مِنْ كُلِّ شَیْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَیْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُوْنَ(۴۹)
And We created pairs of everything that you may contemplate.
And of every thing We have created pairs: That ye may receive instruction.
فَفِرُّوْۤا اِلَى اللّٰهِؕ-اِنِّیْ لَكُمْ مِّنْهُ نَذِیْرٌ مُّبِیْنٌۚ(۵۰)
So turn to God. I give you a clear warning from Him.
Hasten ye then (at once) to Allah: I am from Him a Warner to you, clear and open!
وَ لَا تَجْعَلُوْا مَعَ اللّٰهِ اِلٰهًا اٰخَرَؕ-اِنِّیْ لَكُمْ مِّنْهُ نَذِیْرٌ مُّبِیْنٌۚ(۵۱)
Do not set up another god with God. I give you a clear warning from Him.
And make not another an object of worship with Allah: I am from Him a Warner to you, clear and open!
كَذٰلِكَ مَاۤ اَتَى الَّذِیْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِّنْ رَّسُوْلٍ اِلَّا قَالُوْا سَاحِرٌ اَوْ مَجْنُوْنٌۚ(۵۲)
Even thus no apostle came to those before them but they said: "He is a sorcerer or a mad man."
Similarly, no messenger came to the Peoples before them, but they said (of him) in like manner, "A sorcerer, or one possessed"!
اَتَوَاصَوْا بِهٖۚ-بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُوْنَۚ(۵۳)
Is this the legacy they have passed down from one to the other? In fact, they are a rebellious people.
Is this the legacy they have transmitted, one to another? Nay, they are themselves a people transgressing beyond bounds!
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَاۤ اَنْتَ بِمَلُوْمٍ(۵۴) ﱭ
Turn away from them. You will not be blamed.
So turn away from them: not thine is the blame.
وَّ ذَكِّرْ فَاِنَّ الذِّكْرٰى تَنْفَعُ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ(۵۵)
But go on reminding them, as reminding benefits the believers.
But teach (thy Message) for teaching benefits the Believers.
وَ مَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَ الْاِنْسَ اِلَّا لِیَعْبُدُوْنِ(۵۶)
I have not created the jinns and men but to worship Me.
I have only created Jinns and men, that they may serve Me.
مَاۤ اُرِیْدُ مِنْهُمْ مِّنْ رِّزْقٍ وَّ مَاۤ اُرِیْدُ اَنْ یُّطْعِمُوْنِ(۵۷)
I want no sustenance from them nor do I want them to feed Me.
No Sustenance do I require of them, nor do I require that they should feed Me.
اِنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ الرَّزَّاقُ ذُو الْقُوَّةِ الْمَتِیْنُ(۵۸)
God is certainly the great provider, Lord of strength and power.
For Allah is He Who gives (all) Sustenance,- Lord of Power,- Steadfast (for ever).
فَاِنَّ لِلَّذِیْنَ ظَلَمُوْا ذَنُوْبًا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوْبِ اَصْحٰبِهِمْ فَلَا یَسْتَعْجِلُوْنِ(۵۹)
Those who do wrong will indeed come to the same end as their fellows (of old). So let them not ask Me to hasten (the punishment).
For the Wrong-doers, their portion is like unto the portion of their fellows (of earlier generations): then let them not ask Me to hasten (that portion)!
